I wouldn't say excellent considering the level of the opposition. For a reserve team they're doing ok.

Why's there nobody there? Like almost literally nobody.

Marítimo vs Newcastle (20/09/12) 6pm KO - Live on ESPN
Loki679 replied to ponsaelius's topic in Football
Well, we've won so many trophies in the last fifty years obviously the europa is beneath us. We are desperate to win a trophy so we'll concentrate on the premier league, madness. -
It does piss me off a little when they're doing that and then basically behaving like footballers in their private lives but Demba seems to be genuinely devout and so I wouldn't put him in that category. Same with Hernandez at Man Utd.
-
He does seem to move clubs fairly often. His longest spell was at Hoffenheim but even there he was supposed to move to Stuttgart after two seasons but the move fell through. Could be his agents are moving him around frequently to generate lots of juicy commissions and signing on fees.

Shirley should be 'Alan Pardew defends NUFC transfer inactivity'

I'm interested, no need to be an arse if you aren't.

Which is completely acceptable of course, because Ponteyland isn't in Newcastle. Just like 'Ponteyland Airport', Marra! I wish we were a proper city with an airport, with planes touching down on Northumberland Street. Would make the city much nicer. I'd love to see someone from RTG draw up a town plan for the redevelopment of sunderland. 9-1 FTM spelt out in buildings?

I'd say Krul and Colo have to be one and two in whatever order as you look at the people coming in to replace them and they're not anywhere close to the same class.
-
Just keep repeating to yourself 'we didn't lose anyone in the window, we didn't lose anyone in the window'.

Thought it was 'trigger'
-
A lot of them might struggle with that.

Injuries have hampered his career. It possibly hasn't been as noticeable as some others because he played through rather than miss games to recover.

Is the new betfair site killing anyone else's pc? Mine slows to an absolute crawl as soon as I log on.

He turned up to training thiking 'Shola is third choice ffs, this is my big chance' and Pards came over, put an arm round his shoulder and said 'Hello son, what's your name? Bit old to be autograph hunting aren't you?', signed his shirt and wandered away to take training. Xisco -

He's another one who's turned his career here around. Real shame he's going to be out for so long, I thinnk he would have got quite a few games this season.

Lille president Michel Seydoux said: "Our price is £6m, because he is a quality player and we need to find a good replacement in the transfer market." That's a quote from the mirror.
-
Totally different situation. Freiburg were getting relegated and desperately needed money to strengthen. Lille have a decent team, champions league money and have no such worries.
-
The Debuchy one does annoy me. If Lille had been demanding crazy money for him then i'd fully support the club in walkng away but their price was very reasonable. We lost the chance to signiificantly improve the weakest part of our side because they seemed to want to take the piss and get a bargain.

Jesus, looks like he's visiting the shire

Very true. This whole deadline day thing is spoiling Europa Cup day for me You said it was rubbish to suggest the players might be upset about the lack of ambition and they'd just get on with it like normal adults. In the situation you mentioned it ended up with us losing Enrique and Barton and the club captain publically criticising the club leadership. Doesn't sound like 'just getting on with it' to me.
-
Exactly, they will dissapointed with the lack of activity. Aye just like last summer when we failed to replace Carroll and that excuse was no doubt laughably used then only for us to go unbeaten for 11 games or whatever......... We signed Ba. So the club and manager never once made any reference to the fact we would reinvest the Carroll money for another striker to replace him? Ba isnt an answer ffs considering that Cisse was the eventual replacement. The money was invested in all areas though, this time we have done nothing in the key areas we needed. Stop ignoring the point. The club and Pardew made endless statements about replacing Carroll and this forum wasnt happy we didnt. Pardew certainly did yes, we certainly got lucky with it, and made a great start, which in turn led to a great season. That doesn't mean it will work the same again, the league on a whole has gotten alot stronger. That wasnt the point you made. You said they would be upset at the summer transfers/lack of ambition when its rubbish to suggest it. The fact the previous summer had a similar thing(and after the Carroll sale for that matter) and we got on with it like normal adults says far more than your amateur psychology Wasn't that one of the reasons Enrique wanted to leave?
