Can go back pretty much anytime Villa have settled possession and see he defends in the 5 and when we had settled possession it's Sandro as the lone pivot with Ramsey and Woltemade as 8s ahead of him was consistent throughout the match and the heat maps show it. edit: Tonali even referred to him as having played in midfield in one of the interviews

he was literally playing in the same position we play Joelinton in and Osula was up top. It was really obvious and I have no idea what these guys are watching most of the time . Pundits really think he’s like a modern day Peter Crouch or something when you hear them talk.

Quite enjoy him playing as an 8. Has a lot to improve on athletically but we already knew that.

Hall and Tino back in and it’s a team with boundless energy everywhere. Willock and Ramsey against a team with quick transitions through midfield is always going to be difficult though, unless they improve defensively.

I don’t think he looks like much of a goal threat but I’d probably play him up front for the rest of the season tbh. He seems to have focus and the effort was certainly there. Much better at leading a press than Wissa or Woltemade, which is ultimately what this team has been about at its best.

thought we were good enough to have won by two or three btw. We are desperate for a few 50/50s to drop our way in the box, a bit like their goal did for them.
