sounds like confirmation bias tbh because Trippier was fine and was our main source of progression. Looked knackered after 75 minutes but not sure how we can expect anything more than that from him atm after barely playing since a long injury.

I don’t think today was anywhere near as bad as is being made out like, but the one major criticism I’d have of Eddie is his reluctance to play Wissa and Woltemade together. Neither look capable of playing up front alone and both have never done it before. Wissa always had a 10 behind him when he played up front for Brentford and Woltemade always had a strike partner to do the running that he can’t do. We were dominating he ball and Wolves aren’t threatening at all, second half seemed the perfect time to do it.

I don’t think anyone could’ve expected the Wissa signing to have gone as badly as it’s gone. It’s costing us every game at the moment though, and arguably for the vast majority of the season too.

Between Woltemade, Joelinton and Bruno just there I think we’ve had good enough chances to win it really

Possibly unpopular opinion but I’d back Wilson to get more chances than Woltemade in this team at the moment. So one thing I would say is that if we’re sacrificing that kind of positional play from our striker then we actually have to use him in build up/chance creation instead. Him making 6 passes in a half where we’ve had 67% possession is not acceptable and pretty much pointless really.

Still think we’ve been decent, mind. Prefer being patient and controlling an away game to just giving endless counter attacks away or being passive and sitting way too deep like we have for a lot of the season. Back us to eventually create a good chance, just have to hope it’s Barnes on the end of it

Think this is a game where we can go double pivot with Woltemade behind Wissa second half. We’ve had all the ball pretty much, Wolves don’t seem interested in possession. Get more forward options on.

I honestly wonder how much it affects his game. Like, how can he have any confidence contesting a challenge if he knows he’s not going to get a foul when he’s fouled, or he’s going to give away a foul if he fights for it.

You can’t just smash crosses into the box all game against a back 5. Have to be patient and wait for the right moment. Especially with how bad we’ve been at defending counter attacks away from home this season.
