Yeah, this no striker set up shouldn't be a regular thing once we have completed our summer spending. It's only really worked once and that was yesterday, and that was a moment of individual brilliance, rather than tactical genius.

To think, some on here were suggesting we should get rid only a few months back He's now adding assists and goals to his game.

I don't think he compliments our set-up/formation sadly. We just don't have great service from our wide. Almiron et al get into good positions then take an extra touch and bottle taking on the cross. He is 'caught on his heels' often, probably due to the lack of early delivery. He would probably benefit from a more 'old fashioned' wide player, running down the line and whipping crosses in early, but we don't really have anyone in that mould. He was a useful asset last season when we were desperate, but realistically i don't think it will work out for him here.

Wood is more of a target man to aim for on the break, Isak doesn't seem that type of player. Like it or not, we won't see much of the ball in this fixture and will be penned back into our own half for much of this. Give Isak a decent 30 minute cameo and start him for the next home match.

He has the same athleticism as Shelvey but without the vision and technique to compensate. He has improved under Howe, but yeah he just isn't good enough.

I wasn't happy playing with no Striker on the pitch, but tbf to Howe, he took a gamble and it worked. I still don't think he played badly, but remember he is third choice striker now in the grand scheme of things
