Hope this gets finalised and announced today, so we can focus ALL attention on the striker front for the next 2 days, just hope we dont fail with prime targets and panic buy a second rate one...
-
Didnt the thread title on here just refer to him as 'Man'
-
Now i think about it, i doubt he would fly all the way here if he didnt have a good idea of what we had to offer him financially...hopefully it is just a case of signing on the dotted line after a medical...
-
From what I read earlier, he's coming to talk terms with us. The medical would follow. So potential problems then...
-
No way Ashley will pay for a transfer flight up to newcastle , or a train ticket as well....
-
As long as we can provide the ammunition for him, he starts regularly, and he stays fit, i am confident he cud get a decent goals return this season...

Santon is the better player, but he's predominantly a RB. Most competently run clubs would sign both if they had a pleb like Simpson playing at RB and no LB, for us it's obviously one or the other. Our failure to capture signings like this (most probably due to us being tight fisted), makes me envy clubs like citeh evan more with seemingly unlimited transfer funds so much more...
-
Cant say i have seen either pieters or santon play, which woud be the best to have?
-
realy getting fed up with this shit now...
-
Not much seems to be happening with this player at the moment, is this just another deal that has ended up dead in the water?
-
Good player johnson like, but we need a striker and a left back, wud rather we focused on that at this moment in time...
-
Yeah I read that somewhere as well. But Sky's transfer clock is counting down to 11pm. Pretty sure every deal we are involved in now will go down to the wire...
-
I wud quite happily have him touch the ball once all game if he scored with it each time....
-
Didnt have a great first half, but a great poacher's goal and a smart turn and finish for his second. Hope he keeps his place and im sure there will be more to come as long as he gets decent service, which was probably why he didnt have much inpact first half...
-
I think we are all thinking along the same lines, however it has beeen a decent start to the season, and we still have time to get players in, i shall reserve judgement properly until 00:01am on thursday...

He's facing a losing battle. As I've said before, I can see Pardew resigning the same time KK did. He's put himself back into the frame for PL manager jobs as he hasn't done too bad with the day-to-day business. I guess even he is getting really fed up with all this somehow. I can even see some parallels with the Keegan situation - being Ashley's man, getting promissed signings in January - only getting Kuqi - I won't count an injured Ireland - (in 2008 it was that Diatta or whatever he was called). Summer - losing key players, failing to resign the key players that were still here and now hoping to get "2 or 3 in". Deja - vu for me. With the best part of a 5 year contract still to run, I doubt it! I get the point about the comparison's with KK, but pardew doesnt have the same outspoken personality that KK has and i can see him being a lot more tolerant of ashley's disctatorship at the club...

I just hope that we can try to get out of the blocks quick in this game, it is our first home game of the season against a team you would expect us to beat, hope we push forward early doors and get the crowd going...

Building bridges You see if he was at Newcastle then he wouldn't need to build any bridges, we have a few over the Tyne as it stands, though if he wanted too he could help out with the Tyne tunnel project. The new tunnel is finished already...
-
Aye, he obviously isnt confident about getting anybody in now at this stage, so wants to make it clear of his role, he just keeps repeating how he simply chooses players, and the club 'tries' to get them in...

Cheers ...box office doesn't want to be rammed
-
I know this is slightly off topic, i have bought tickets online for this match but they have not come in the post, tried ringing the box office but they are just ... Should i just print off my reference number and receipt and take it to the box office today?
-
Green with envy? I honestly think they would be happy coming 19th in the table if we were 20th, they always seem to do comparisons with us for no explainable reason...
-
Sunderland fan on radio 'Newcastle going for 2 top left backs, one from holland and one from france, WHY CANT WE GO FOR PLAYERS LIKE THAT!?' ...
-
Sunderland Commentator just said that they 'Dominated' us again in the first half just before... They are desperately trying there hardest to find positives from the start they have made
-
Hope brucey doesnt get sacked if they loose, we need them to suffer a little bit longer...
