Won’t hide. He needs to learn though and it’s time for a change in system to try and control games better.

I’m not usually one for getting on players backs but I honestly think this lad is shite. Throw his age into the mix and he’s absolutely finished. We’ve pissed that money away. Id genuinely rather write it off as a loss and play Osula for the rest of the season. *Disclaimer - might be post-match blues.
-
I always feel like he drops one of these performances when he has an opportunity to make the position his.
-
Didn’t like the starting lineup. I thought the tactics and setup was poor for what we were facing. Given we lacked control taking a midfielder off and putting a striker on seemed daft. I think Wolt should have started over Wissa and yet he’s so shot shy. Wissa will likely go down as one of the worst pound for pound signings we’ll make. Howe probably has to accept a change of system is needed for the remainder of the season or we’ll continue to be awful. Osula somehow looks like our best bet up front despite not being able to get a game over Gordon at the start of the season. This feels a lot like the wheels have fallen off and the players have packed in.

Missed one in the cup too though

I’m done if this isn’t given

If he’s gone 442 in a game where we lack control I think this might be the first time I’ve got a bit of Howe doubt creeping in
-
Elanga and Wolt early has to happen. Hopefully we get an early goal

A lot of football to be played in this yet but I’m not loving life right now

Couldn’t understand why they were picked it seemed daft to me.

We’ve not been given clearer handball pens

Same.

Been a while since I’ve been this anxious at kickoff. It feels like there’s a lot riding on this in terms of likely outcomes/goals for the season.
-
Baffled a little by that. Elanga has improved last couple of games and got a great goal v Man City… bench. Wissa against his old club is a dodgy one. Willock over Ramsay too? I dunno Eddie but I hope it works.

I guess we haven’t had a lot of the highs we’ve had in pasts seasons where we’ve really blown teams away. I can’t think of many Premier League games this season where we’ve dominated throughout and got a good score line. Edit* Just checked and it’s literally just Everton away. No wonder feeling is a bit off

I hope some of the players are giving him some stick for doing it mid-season.

I would have said so. Their coach was their set piece guy too. They seem to play the percentages from whenever I’ve seen them. Transitions, direct balls, long throws and that deep in swinging corner. When I’ve seen them anyway.
-
Disagree. We’ve been awful against teams who sit in. Howe’s style of high press seems to have been found out by managers playing the % set piece game while sitting in a low block and that’s exactly what Brentford are going to do. For me it’s got to be Woltemade. Try and get the ball into him much higher up the pitch and I think we’ll be better at that with Barnes on the left too.

I know this is mega lazy but what was the question?

I’m probably in the wrong here but can’t help be a bit embarrassed as a fan. A section of our support - almost exclusively online - who wants Howe out is making that much noise it’s lead to journalists asking if he’s going to step down at the end of the season. It’s not even a year since we’ve won the cup. Have we played shit for a large part of the season? Yes. Results have been up and down. Performances have been erratic. There’s mitigating factors though. Injuries - we’ve barely had our strongest 11 on the same field, the Isak saga, none of his replacements have been without issue. We’ve also conceded some horrific goals from individual errors at some really momentum crushing times. Howe has to adapt as well. Could anyone say with what we’ve had available anyone could have done much better over his tenure? I honestly don’t think there should be a single question about Howe until at least half way through next season. If we’re still is shit then fair enough. Everything before looks fickle and makes us look like mugs.

I’m probably the most worried about this guy in comparison to other out of form players. Elanga and Wolt look like they’ve got something to me but either it isn’t working for them in the system or confidence. Ramsay looks like he’s slowly building something. I’m not sure what Wissa offers. Add his age and the length of time he missed at the start of the season I think we’ll look back on this as a mistake. Obviously hope I hope I’m wrong.

Meant from fans not the club. Read loads of it.

Random point here but can you remember when Cherki was available for so little money and a really high percentage of people just bought into the narrative that he has an attitude problem and didn’t want him here? What an utterly outrageous footballer he is and probably my favourite non-Newcastle player in the league.

We did but he left to Man City then the other went to PSG.
