Was more pointing out how perceptions of both clubs seems to be viewed entirely differently from both fan bases and the media. I’m not doing down what they’ve achieved as a newly promoted club. Too often I’ve seen even our own supporters comparing them to us when in reality we’re 3 points different. If a couple of those game where we conceded late goals hadn’t gone in the phrase “good teams find a way to win when playing poorly” would be wheeled out and we’d be sat in the top 6. Im not overly defending us here either because I think there’s definitely an issue with our current playing style but i don’t think we’re as bad as some people make out and I don’t think Sunderland are as good as some of our fans make out.

I’m still not seeing this Woltemade behind Wissa thing. As a second striker or a 10 they’ve got to be mobile and Woltemade isn’t. His strength is the space he creates and his ability to be played into feet. It’s like suggesting Kane should be a no 10. Howe just needs to figure out a way so our wingers can benefit from It.

I’ve mostly swerved the match threads for this reasons. Constant droning about any move that isn’t perfect. Whichever the current hated player is getting slagged from minute one.

Mostly agree. Thiaw has been great. I think Woltemade will be when we adapt. Without his goals we would be fucked. I definitely agree on his preference for proven Premier League players has held is back - the value is awful when it doesn’t work.

I honestly think he’s been let down badly by some of the current players and signings. Wingers have been missing all season bar flashes, we’ve missed chances at pivotal moments then shit losses start to weigh up brining the whole mood down. There’s also been a stack of individual errors a massive decline in certain key players like Joelinton, Pope etc. Injuries have been fucking dreadful - no first team fullbacks playing at the same time for most of the season, Gordon having to play up front badly. Howe isn’t a PFM manager. I don’t care how shit we get he deserves the season and a good chunk of the next one to get grip on things. My biggest criticism of him is we’re very all or nothing and don’t control the game. I suppose a Rafa/Mou type would get that even from these players but then you don’t get the type of PSG a Spurs style routs we can produce on our day. Basically I think we’re going to have a shit season and probably just have to back the team as best we can on the pitch then see what happens over time.

The usual suspects publicly flogging Semenyo on social media is pissing me off. The current state of the Romano’s, Jacobs, Ornstein etc have absolutely ruined transfer windows.

I still look at him and think he would have done well here despite the awful penalty. Like others have said I’m happier with Woltemade and Wissa. It’s easy to forget how desperate we were at the end of the summer window.

Probably been mentioned already in here but Reece James is a ridiculously good footballer. If it wasn’t for his injuries he’d be one of the best in the world.
