Will be absolutely gutted if this doesn’t happen.
-
You know we'll get a defensive performance trying to nick a 1-0, which is exactly what we need to be fair. Would be over the moon with that as well ?
-
Got absolutely no problem losing to a better team but the effort from some of our players - especially the ones on the edge of the first team have been awful. Massive performance needed on Wednesday.

Nowt worse than that sort of craic when watching a defeat .

Wonder if Fulham still want him...

Same. Although I was confident we were signing Townsend last January too...So was Rafa I seem to recall. -

I'm pleased they've set a deadline. It at least means we won't be glued to the deadline day trickle of non-news in the hope something will happen. I guess we'll know either way before then. -

I want to break it to you gently, but that's exactly what's happening. The club is making a mug of us yet again. It's the 25th of January and we have one squad player on loan. The amount of people that still cant see this is outrageous. Time after time transfer window after transfer window this has happened for the last 10 years, we get linked to players bid derisory offers and end up with nothing but s**** Yet people still get into a frenzy thinking we are going to do oodles of business in the summer and January....wake up man its never going to happen while under this regime we will never spend a decent amount of money on decent quality its bargain basement s****...period I'm making the same point here but he spent - what was it? £30m or something like that in the January before last on Shelvey and Townsend to try and avoid the financial pitfalls of relegation. Neither were bargain basements and the majority were pleased about the quality of signings at the time. I'm not for one second saying Ashley isn't a dickhead nor am I saying he's running the club correctly but I don't think it's too far removed from reality that we're actually trying to buy players to protect his Premier League money because he's done it in the past. Edit* We're also in this weird sort of situation as a fan base that everyone is claiming this lad is shit but at the same time fuming that we aren't bidding more money for this lad that is apparently garbage. I get the frustration but a section of our fans have gone full logic out of the window this week. -

I don't trust most if not all of the planted rumours that appear in the media. I don't think we'll be anything of a club under Ashley but he will not want to make more losses with another relegation. He spent in the last January window the year we went down but it was too late. I expect some attempts will be made again to try and avoid it this time given how precarious our Premier League status is. One thing we can all agree on us he's out for himself and he wont want to take a chance of more losses and less chances to sell the club. -
Guess he'd be a backup if the Jorgensen deal can't be done?

This place isn't too bad for it but I'm sure a section of our fans are dying for us to sign no one so they can be proud of the usual shit that gets spouted every window: "smoke screen", "club isn't really trying", "fake bids through the media". I'm all for being realistic on our usual transfer dealings but some people are pathetic man - twitter is an absolute cesspool in the nufc tag. -
Hope the Shelvey rumours are bollocks. He hasn't had a great season by any stretch - frustrating to watch more than anything else - but he's still one of our best players and you can see he has a huge influence in organising others on the pitch. I get a bit frustrated how many people fall back to "hollywood balls" because a lot of those long diagonal passes help get us further up the pitch and turning the opposition. The fee seems like peanuts in the current market too.
-
I'd be surprised if he's brought in to play left back, especially over Dummet. Given the inconsistent form from pretty much all of our wingers I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting on the left with either Murphy or Atsu playing on the opposite wing. What limited play I've seen on him he looks like a pretty straight forward upgrade for us and that's considering he's barely played.
-
Can’t be too angry with that. Murphy being a massive plus point, Dummet and Lascelles had a solid game too. Would like to see Murphy start with Richie next game. Who do we even start up front though?
-
Expected performance but the closing down hasn’t been really lacklustre by the front three - really disappointing from all of them really. I know the quality difference is massive but they’ve looked clueless whenever we’ve had the ball. Murphy looks far happier on the left mind.
-
PCP don’t sound too disappointed though do they? They’ve basically just low balled his asking price and nothing has developed since. It’s typical Ashley but there seems to be a lack of desire on both parties with both denying fault.
-
I guess it’s somewhat interesting he’s said this now rather than at the end of the transfer window so he won’t have a ready made excuse as to why we haven’t bought any players. Maybe he will have to invest with no takeover looming? Financially he won’t want to be relegated for a 3rd time.... surely?
-
Happy with a point considering we were behind. We’re going to have to get wins from top 10 sides now though. Not sure we’ve got enough to do it.
-
An unexpected comfortable win today to give everyone a bit of a boost. 3-0
-
Good player who’s been underperforming. I wish he’d make more runs like he did for his goal because he’s more than capable of adding a goal threat. Hopefully after his one it’ll bring more out of him.
-
A striker with limited mobility doesn’t seem like someone Rafa would be interested in to me.
-
I can’t grasp why people can’t see this. It would be massively detrimental for our survival bid getting rid of him at this point.
-
Rafa special there ?

This. They’re in the type of chaos that only we seem capable of creating and a Joselu winner is exactly the type of crap that happens when you’re in that situation.
