I really despise how he’s now been targeted by some of the fan base but it’s also pointless to ignore his form. Given how poorly he reacted when Everton fans turned on him I don’t see some of the narratives being made up about him by some fans is going to help either - needs big backing from us to help turn it around I think. He’s been undeniably shite though bar the odd game and the odd moment.

Not sure I agree with any of this to be honest. I don’t think he’s more of a 10 than a 9. He just plays that role more like Kane than Isak for example. His link up play has been good and put one on a plate for Barnes a couple of games ago so the assists will come. Hes only going to get better under Howe

I don’t think it’s too hard to see what Howe has done here. To a man our whole team was a let down at the weekend. He’s given the same lot an opportunity to sort that out tonight and the reaction should be strong. I thought he’d make changes but tonight we’ll find out a lot about some of the out of form players just by how they apply themselves tonight.

Not adding anything of value that anyone else hasn’t already said but that was an utterly miserable result and performance. We don’t look like a club that’ll finish in the European places at present. I trust Howe will find a solution and when we have our actual fullbacks we’ll be better but there’s definitely problems that need solving.

Makes no sense

It’s been similar to a lot of our games where it’s been really fine margins. If we converted even most of our good chances we’d be much higher up the table. Today should have been much more straight forward if we had scored those earlier chances. The most concerning thing is the shit goals we’ve been conceding of late. Joelinton isn’t dominating the midfield like he did and it’s resulting is not really stopping the opposition

We’ve all said it but the signing of Woltemade is going to be great for our wingers and we’re starting to see the benefit. It’s good to see Gordon hitting the levels he can lately as well as some seemed determined to start turning on him.

I don’t think he’s looked bad because there’s phases of play where you can see what he offers. Same with all 4 of our wingers though - none of them have made a good start to the season. You can probably blame Murph the least given his expectation level but absolutely none of them have done enough. It’s the main reason results have been poor in my opinion.
