Almost every week he says something that reminds me how thankful I am he's no longer here. What a detestable cretin.
-
I don't understand the logic if the Bas Dost rumour is even remotely true with him being incredibly similar in style to Mitrovic. It wouldn't make any sense.
-
You can't exactly blame that lad if that is his reasoning. It makes perfect sense.

Watford (A) FA Cup - Sat 9th Jan at 3pm (not on TV) - Pre-match thread

Aye who cares about winning things, being the 17th best team in the league, that's all that matters If we get relegated we won't be challenging for any major trophy for the forseeable future and the whole direction of the football club looks ominous regardless of whether Ashley sells it or not. It's easy to pass out a cynical reply but the reality is if we go down the chances of actually getting back to a club of even a remotely respectable stature at the top level seems massively unlikely.Like I said, for the first time ever, I'd rather we focussed on the league and then if we managed to stay up you have to hope further investment will happen to build on what we have. But still, A win for momentum would probably be more beneficial than a loss. Except that isn't the reality at all. In fact the exact same opinion was probably put forward in 08-09. I personally don't think we'd repeat what we achieved last time we got relegated. The Championship is are much more difficult league with stronger spending powers than it was back then. That's without even considering what we'd be left with after everyone on big contracts was sold. -

I hope Thauvin, Mbabu and De Jong all start. I think for the first time in my life I'd rather we were out of the cup as staying up this season is far more important. That said, a win is a massive confidence boost we could really use as a team. I guess I'm torn. -
Sissoko could be on his way out. Would be typically us to sell one of our bigger players while in the relegation zone.
-
Who would even make way for Townsend? He had a good season on the right wing but Sissoko can't exactly be trusted doing the hard work in the centre midfield position. I think I'd rather see Thauvin given a run in the team over signing Townsend. We've definitely got more important areas that need strengthening.
-
I'd be really pissed off after this whole Austin saga if he was then bought by Pardew. It's nailed on to happen as well isn't it? I personally think Austin and Shelvey would be enough to keep us in the league. A finisher and a powerful box to box player should in theory be enough assuming we get no injuries. My gut feeling is we'll sign no one of worth though.
-
Really unlucky not to get something but these missed chances are really starting to look like relegating us. I'd at this point panic buy Austin because we're desperate for someone clinical.
-
I only watch the ligue 1 highlight show on YouTube but he seems to miss a lot of chances. For that sort of money I'd rather we didn't bother given our predicament.
-
Almost winced to death upon reading "like a new signing".
-
7 points from Liverpool, Spurs and Villa and this thread goes missing. Two narrow 1-0 defeats and all of a sudden it's back on the radar and people suddenly remember they want us to go down. RTG levels of hilarious this.
-
Truly awful news. Rip Pav
-
2 morale shattering defeats in 3 days feels absolutely abhorrent.
-
Massive spending is required to avoid this in January and I'd be surprised if we even bothered to strengthen at all.
-
So sick of being shit.
-
I quite fancied us to win today but with an unchanged starting 11 after the high intensity game v Everton I'm really not that convinced. I imagine we'll crumble if we fall behind.
-
Really like the look of that line-up. It would be interesting to see how Winjaldum looks in his actual position too.
-
I'm not his biggest fan at all but he's been better these past few weeks. I'm surprised so many people are bashing him because he's much improved compared to the tugid, effortless displays he was putting in at the start of the season.
-
I think we've got a better squad than most of the bottom 6/7 teams but after seasons of turgid football and heavily losing streams the team is so fragile. I'm really not sure whether we'll be able to stay up. I certainly can't see us pulling clear from the teams around us so I can see this going right down to the final weekend again.
-
Thought it was an even game, a point would have been a good result and it would have been good going into the WBA game. I've no idea how McClaren is going to pick the team up for WBA after another kick in the bollocks. We're fragile enough as it is. Anita was really good today and a few good other performances but it's obvious why we're there in the table. So unlucky there.
-
It's hard to be too upset given how awful the conditions were, it didn't make it particularly entertaining. McClaren went for the win and we had the chances to do it but wasted them as normal. I thought Perez had pinched it at the end. Poor result but 7 points from those three games is more than I could have ever expected a few weeks back. It just makes it all seem less important given how everyone else around us has been winning as well.
-
Can't help but feel disappointed to see him go. I wonder how long it will be before he takes his next role.
-
I think I'd probably like to see Perez up front with De Jong behind him. His pace would likely cause villa's defence more problems than a physical battle between Mitro and Lescott but it's also massively harsh if Mitrovic doesn't get a starting place too. I know Gestede looked absolute dog shit last weekend but it's just the type of physical battle I never really fancy Colo winning.
