Sort of half being serious here but if the club completely fail to sign a striker I wonder if he becomes a realistic option…

How can we be in talks with a club for a period of time, have a feeling internally a deal is possible only for it to come out it’s not possible? Is it a case of Wolves/Brentford trying to flush out ridiculous money or is our lot just completely gullible? Entering the season without a second striker would potentially season spoiling, going in without any strikers capable of playing at this level is completely negligent. The club have to take some responsibility for this despite everyone desperately trying to blame Isak/PSR.

I just don’t understand all these failed bids for players. Obviously we’ve been in dialogue with clubs so we must have an idea of what sort of figure will get things done. How we then end up in a position to place so many official bids for them to be publicly rejected doesn’t make sense to me. There’s clearly more at play than I understand - I just don’t get repeated low balling these teams’s valuations when we’re in such a tight position and everyone knows it.

Agree with this. I think he’d thrive here but we’re gonna have to over pay £10m-£15m for whatever striker we go for and some of that is our own doing. Im firmly in the just pay whatever it takes to sign a striker now. I also think I’m him over Wissa for the reasons you mentioned.

If Isak has spoken to Howe about his desire to leave before the end of the season I don’t get why the club have been so hardball in the not-for-sale stance. Should have been more if a club is prepared to meet X he can leave. I’m not saying it would have fixed this issue but it might not have been so bad from a PR perspective for both us and Isak. Not defending him because he’s gone on like a total prick mind. If anything I just feel massively lucky to have Eddie Howe.

I don’t think anyone at the club would even consider it. Was more pointing out how desperate I am for a striker and how easily I seem to convince myself there shit strikers will work here.

I’m not quite at Jamie Vardy yet but I’m approaching a hear me out Hoijlund under Howe for a year and he’s a different player. It’s been a long summer.
