Proper hard game this one. Villa beat PSG who’s arguably the best team in Europe at the minute and I can imagine exiting the Champions League in such a way isn’t going to affect morale. Their squad is so well balanced now too. Id be really happy with a point. It’s one of those games that no result would surprise me though.

I don’t think Pope got the credit he deserved for that pen save at the time last night - the focus seemed to be on Eze. I suppose that’s the issue with those slow walk pens and baiting the keeper to move. If it goes wrong it looks terrible. I don’t think that little movement Pope did just before the kick was an accident and Eze has bought it.

It’s been great to see Barnes take his opportunity in recent weeks. He’s been in and out of games but he’s undeniably one of the most clinical wingers in the league when he’s on it.

Genuinely think Hughes is one of the most under rated players in the league. As for the game. 2-0. Isak. Murph assist.
