I’ve always had a soft spot for Rashford. If they get him back to playing in a position he’s familiar with and he’s approaching it as a point to prove under Emery I reckon it’ll take off for him. If he gets back to what he can do £40m is cheap - wages maybe not so. If it doesn’t work he goes back to Man U. It’s a good risk/reward for me.

That sort of fee for Duran is cracking business for Villa in my opinion. He doesn’t want to be there. He’s got this massive hype off the back of some screamers but for me he’s more likely to harm is overall value than improved it. He’s not a Haaland, Mbappe, even Isak. That’s seriously good money for someone who isn’t first choice and is pushing for a move. Especially in a PSR world.

It doesn’t really fit this time though. Seems like Mitchel and whoever else is involved is genuinely trying to offload squad players. “We tried” was putting a £20m bid in for Berahino or whatever he was called on the day of the window. Plus many other low ball bid examples.
