He didn’t leave to play football. He left to sit on another team’s bench. He was never going to play.

This is going to sound petty (because it absolutely is) but he was one of my favourite ever keepers for us until he spat his dummy out about being no2 then twerked as hard as he could to sit on Man u’s bench instead. Left us weaker in the process and stuck some instagram story on the same night cheering his new team on. I lost a lot of respect for him from that point on. Like it was mentioned above he’s been solid since he’s covered Pope but he hasn’t had to save anything that anyone wouldn’t have expected. If anything it shows the importance having a keeper than can play out a bit more and highlights if we want to be one of the top sides Pope likely needs replacing. I won’t forgot how much of an upgrade it felt when he took over from Darlow but if we can get a fee for him in January he’s got to go.

In a PSR era I think Liverpool should sell him in January. He’s gonna leave at the end of the season for nothing and they’ll win the title with or without him given they’re the only club that is even remotely consistent. I’m sure it’s even better for PSR selling home grown players too right? If he doesn’t want to be there flog him for something, win the title anyway and benefit in PSR terms. It’s a win-win for them.
