Sissoko in one of the home cup games against a lower league team under McClaren was one of the worst I’ve seen. Couldn’t even be bothered in the slightest. I forget which team it was but regretted being there. Numerous Jack Colback games. Hendrick away to Palace was another that sticks out.

Was just interested I guess now it’s post-game and we’ve won etc. At risk of sounding like an old bloke but if you’re giving pens for that much contact on a slide tackle… the games gone, you’ll be giving a pen every week etc etc. Feel like Isak played for the pen and didn’t get the contact he wanted.

Seeing a few of our fan accounts on twitter in the aftermath of the game going off it that we didn’t get a pen for the tackle on Isak. Just wondered what the general consensus about this is now the dust has settled? I’d be fuming if that was given against us so it’s a straight no pen for me.

We have two specialised left backs on the bench. People will be whinging when we can’t keep the ball and one of our most comfortable players on the ball is a full back sat on the bench. It’s not like we’ve got Schar and Botman who can break the lines with passes. Trippier isn’t there either.

Signing Elanga on deadline day would have papered over the cracks of what has been a really poor window for us and could have given everyone a lift right at the end. Failing to sign him after a deadline day move is another blow and feels very much like the nonsense we’d pull under Ashley. Whichever way you dress it up it doesn’t reflect well on Eagles and Mitchell.
