  1. Absolutely this - The point has now been reached where significant investment is unavoidable without severe consequences. It would be catastrophic for this to be overseen by a nugget like him. Investing in a decent manager and giving him the funds to do what is required would finally be a massive step in the right direction. Of course, all of this will not happen for all the obvious reasons.

The bookies aren't giving them much of a chance. Betfair are offering 18/1 for a sundo victo.
  3. "I can pick up the phone to anyone. Hulk Hogan, Big Daddy, Frank Bruno..."
  4. Wearing the shirt right now and didn't know about this, but the Mrs has just spotted it which prompted me to check this thread..... The embroidery on the sleeve says "Steve Harper's 20 Year Charity March".
  5. I ordered two on 5th August and as of yesterdays post I still hadn't received them. Took a walk up the ground just before lunch and they were happy to issue reprints without too much fuss. They just asked for my membership number and surname. That's what I did today. I'd ordered mine at the beginning of August too. It only took a couple of minutes to get new ones printed. Read of a few people who haven't received their tickets. Have to say though that I was pleased with how easy it was to rectify the issue.

    Alan Pardew

Gerry Francis is available tbf This is what worries me the most, I saw one report where he said that the club or Kinnear had been in touch. As it currently stands, Pardew is probably our best hope. We've really sunk that low. The Francis link was from the last time JFK was here. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/gerry-francis-ponders-newcastle-offer-956381.html Yep, that was the article - Phew! So pleased I misread/was duped/wasn't concentrating, although the fact that I saw this and thought it was a current story is worrying in itself. Sadly, I fear the next barmy appointment is only a matter of weeks away, if not days.

Mick Lowes hinted on Radio Newcastle this morning that Pardew is going to do a phone-in special later in the week, possibly to be confirmed on tonights Total Sport. That doesn't sound like the actions of someone who is expecting to depart anytime soon

  11. Not sure its doing much for me either. I'm too excited to concentrate and I'm counting down to 4pm when I can get out of here and head to the Five Swans for some scran and beer.
  12. Benfica for me. Think we're still very much in the tie and its far from over, and it's the closest we've been to a major trophy for years. Too much has gone into this to just sack it off now, and I'm sure we'll pick up a win and a draw somewhere along the line between now and the end of the season, which would surely see us safe. Mind, If we do beat the spampers they would still be level on points with Wigan, who by that point would have two games in hand over them. That would surely put the mackems odds on for the third relegation spot.

ewww Was! Will be again when he takes them down! Well, we're about to see whether being a total f*cking loon as a manager has a place in the Premier. Been trying to remember if anyone anywhere near as crackers has managed in the top flight before, but I'm struggling. I guess Holloway and Mourinho were unique in their own way, but Di Canio's on a whole different level. It's certainly going to be interesting. If I were a betting man, my money would be on it all imploding in spectacular fashion, but I've just got this tiny worry that the gamble might pay off short term. Hopefully they'll be on the end of a proper humping today and the feel good factor will evaporate quickly. Aye, but they weren't self proclaimed fascists who had been photographed doing lots of fascist stuff, caused the resignation of a very prominent board member, and then come up with a meaningless, half hearted, orchestrated statement when it all became a little inconvenient to be a fascist. I meant them as characters, not the politics issue.....but yes, we've certainly never had a staunch Mussolini supporter managing in the premier before.

TBH, Norwegian Vicar Mag in a Desert is possibly pushing Mag on a Horse/Mag in a Sauna for supremacy.
  17. Near 150,000 Newcastle fans through the door within the next week. Awesome effort. This...3 x 50k's in the space of a week is pretty incredible

She made a right pigs ear of pouring that bottle of dog. The final shot of the bottle and glass must've been taken ten minutes later.
  20. Hadn't really thought about this, but just saw it mentioned on Twitter....but there's little difference between tonight's result or a 0-1 loss. I think had it been the latter then the mood would be much more positive. That away goal really could be the difference.
  21. Not ideal, but we're still in this tie make no mistake. That's the most difficult bit over with. Once the dust settles on this I'm sure the general feeling will be that we still have a decent chance.....as long as they don't score early on.

Indeed, didn't Bob Murray say the SoL was named as such because of the links to mining and the miner's lamp ? Getting very messy down there. Local History, it's all they've got. Start taking that away from them then what do they end up as? Laughable so many fans have brushed it all aside for someone with no connections to them and a hugely dodgy past. Least he's not a mag though, that's worse (they are actually saying this btw) This. Rivalry aside, I've been astounded by the scant disregard for values, history and heritage. In particular, some of the stuff I've seen posted about the issue with the mining banner is particularly awful and distasteful. "Wipe my arse on it and give it back" and "burn it", even "this city was built on shipbuilding, not mining". All this in support of a guy who, at that point, hadn't even taken a training session. It's astounding, and incredibly sad. Talk about selling out. Either that, or it demonstrates that they have no knoweldge of their local history, in which case, replace selling out with thick as mince.

Oh Dear! graeme anderson‏@sunechograeme 1h Kicks off big style in nationals with direct questions:"Are you a fascist, yes or no" Press conf. Press conf cut short. Hell on as they say. graeme anderson‏@sunechograeme 1h Fair to say, Paolo might struggle to get a positive spin in the nationals. Club could get a kicking too. Interesting times.
