  1. Bruce will absolutely get pelters. He only got away with it last season because he blamed Rafa's style and was a lucky bugger. It's now his team/tactics and any continuing bad results will see him get rinsed. Modify message
  2. Yet the referee had a clear line of sight and only gave a yellow. He only gave a red when instructed too. And people still defend referee’s. You were having a go at VAR earlier and now it’s helped get the decision right (again) you’re having a go at the ref instead. Fact is VAR and the ref combined got all the major decisions spot on today. Newcastle only have themselves to blame for being played off the park and losing comprehensively at home to Brighton and fucking Hove Albion If that penalty was given against any other team except us, everyone would argue the player got the ball. If the handball was given for any team other than us then everyone would say that’s how the game is now and it’s a penalty. Too many people are too desperate to see this NUFC crash and burn and allow themselves to favour decisions which enable this. Bruce got things fucking wrong today. We haven’t made enough or good enough signings. We were fucking shit, but I’d still argue that 3 decisions have went against us today when they shouldn’t have and if they happened for any other team, people would be arguing them over and over. It’s not just today though. VAR is spectacularly shit in the Premier League because the same shit referee’s and even former referee’s are in charge of it. It’s another way for jobs going to the boys and another way for the Premier League to fuck over teams to get the league shaped how they want it. Today they helped fuck us over in their dispute against Ashley. Yesterday they gave a token penalty to Palace against Man Utd after Man Utd got every soft penalty in the league last season to help them get back towards the top 4. Please just post your waffle in to the conspiracy theory thread.
  3. Wonder what Steve's mate will think of this start? Somehow I don't think Steve will bring it up this time
  4. If getting the ball results in taking the player after it can still be a foul. It's about protecting the player....

    Joelinton

Needs loaning out to an easier league - for his benefit career wise, and ours to hopefully generate interest to recoup money. Ideally we'd give him a run here but a. We're not good enough to have a passenger and he likely isn't going to make the grade b. Boo boys are out in force ala Thauvin. Even if he did start to perform better the £40m would just be thrown about
  6. Why can't Nixon just fucking tell us
  7. Awww shit, more HTT Mexican jokes incoming
  8. Janmaat. Who I completely forgot was still at Watford...
  9. Exactly. But why does that lead to such levels hatred and hostility? Does Lascelles get the same? He’s talking about his boss. I personally don’t really care. It’s not a disgraceful and insulting thing to the fans etc. I’d rather he didn’t say that, but stuff like that still gets blown out of proportion. If someone is not a fan of the bloke anyway then people will react worse to fairly harmless stuff. I guess it's because we fans have been living Ashley for over a decade and he swans in for a few months and makes stupid general comments based on his limited experience. It's a little condescending really. Lascelles took an absolute caning on here to be fair. As has Shola etc - it's not an agenda against Bruce in that regard.
  10. Sorry, my mistake - Rafa refused him and said he was only worth 20m. Ignore that
  11. And was accountable to it for that exact reason. Grateful, accepting, enabling, just like the King you do detest How is Bruce accountable to the Joelinton transfer? The deal was done, Bruce came in 2 weeks or so the season started. Was Bruce to turn down the job because he had no say in it? Nonsense. It's not nonsense; his presence here - as opposed to a dignified, talented manager with his own vision - is what enabled Joelinton to happen. If Bruce/a patsy wasn't here, Joelinton wouldn't be. Besides, I thought he okay'd it? Again, nothing to do with last night which by all accounts was a good performance and fair play. Didn't Rafa agree to him but just said he wasn't worth more than 20m? At which point Ashley said he'd fund the extra 20m from his own pocket.

This was quite a funny post though https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/this-knee-bending-shite.1528143/post-32345122
  13. But Caulkin has said that they were expecting the PL to say yes up until yesterday when they rejected. So much shit spreading Does seem like PIF have taken a back seat but will come back when they're approved. They don't seem fussed to appeal themselves.
  14. Yeah, but the PL have now finally been forced to make a decision and now there are courses of action available. Prior to that they had pushed the consortium in to limbo with no recourse. Rejection is obviously a blow but the positives are: - The consortium still want this. - They and Ashley now have something they can fight rather than being wrapped up by the PLs faffing. - The PL will have to defend their position to a (assumed impartial) 3rd party...be it CAS or high court
  15. Was probably part of the deposit requirements - £17m plus their transfer list seeing as no one at the club has a clue
  16. Couldn't last 60 mins when he was 26. Still loved the fella though. This is such bollocks like. Constantly put in more yards and sprinted more than anyone else on the pitch. Hyper bollocks actually. To say it's bollocks would be an understatement. Massive shocking bollocks
  17. I read somewhere that he looks great in training so I always feel hopeful that with confidence he'll come good. Then I remember that someone in an interview claimed that Obertan was one of the most skillful players they'd played with. Unfortunately he was largely average in games so it doesn't always translate. Could go either way really ...
  18. Every club (and business) should write off an asset if it's not actually of any value any more. If a player has no re-sale value and is rotting in the under-23s their asset value should be impaired and expensed. Actually, looking at the NUFC accounts, I'm not even sure this happened. 2017 - Amortisation and impairment of players' registrations: £35,753k 2018 - Amortisation and impairment of players' registrations: £41,336k 2019 - Amortisation and impairment of players' registrations: £38,611k Not a significant variance there. Think the whole idea of a big random increase in write-offs one year to massage the profit figure might have been a myth. It absolutely f***ing happened. They used £30m (iirc) of cash to write off certain players wages up front in the books. As has been said there was too much money in the club and they didn't want to back Benitez so that's what they did. It was when the accounts were delayed for an inordinate amount of time. Nothing to do with amortisation, it was wages/remaining contract values. EDIT: I see this has already been covered. Wasn't reading the latest posts :/ You can't actually write off cash. They charged the P&L with the remaining contract value of some players wages which created a liability on the balance sheet. Those players were still paid each week in exactly the same way, though instead of those weekly payments hitting the P&L, they decreased this new liability on the balance sheet. The club then issued accounts with decreased profits as they'd brought forward £xm worth of wages that should have been spread over years. I can't remember if they then used this as an excuse for a limited transfer budget but assume so as it's got everyone riled At no point were they cash-wise any worse off by this accounting adjustment. If you want to see how healthy a company is, don't look at their P&L, look at their balance sheet!
  19. So essentially 21m disappeared in to the void of a balance sheet despite the physical assets still being on the books Technically disappeared off the balance sheet Created a provision liability on the balance sheet didn't it?
  20. Everton also look likely to sign Allan from Napoli who us 29 as is Rodriguez. Ha ha ha, guess we going to beat the fools in the resale cup :iamatwat:
  21. More completely "made up" rubbish. The situation remains as i outlined it a few posts back, and will remain that way until we actually hear (are told) the final result. Nothing to (pretend to) report until then. You are literally pretending there is still talks going on. Nothing whatsoever points to that being the case Can't you see?? I am not "pretending" anything at all, I'm not 'understating' anything, I'm not 'overstating' anything . . at all! Until Ashley and / or Staveley say it is dead, it is (obviously) still ALIVE. It can't be anything else!! Dude, what are you on about? You are beyond denial I hope you are trolling... What are you saying all that for, did you not read my post. There is NO (amongst other things) "denial" Just waiting to hear some one (a real person involved in this, Staveley or Ashley) actually say it is dead or it has happened. It has to be one or the other. Nothing has been said yet, by anyone who knows / matters. Just wait! When is this clown getting banned? Has continually posted nonsense about the takeover definitely happening throughout this whole thing despite having no clue what is going on. It was funny at the start now it's just annoying. I am only stating facts, and you know that I am. Yes, I used to be "optimistic" and supported all the other optimists who thought it was about to happen at various points. I will (if you like) 'apologise' for my earlier over-enthusiasm. But, I would prefer it if you stopped the silly insults, read my posts (just the last one if you like) and tell me what I have said that isn't factual? Since Staveley asked for our support, neither she nor Ashley has said the deal has happened or is dead. See? But PIF have said the deal is dead. Staveley isn't buying it on her own.
  22. What exactly did GC say, because the way you've worded your post suggests he's already leaked that there's something going on. Caulkin has said this week, since pulling out all parties reaffirmed their commitment to deal, however the next we should hear is whether deal is off or completed. So whether you believe the deal is likely or not, what is pretty clear is that they are still looking at ways to make this happen. I don’t think we’ll be receiving any running commentary this time, as if Saudis are still involved they won’t want to lose any face if this falls flat again. I would guess PCP are exploring the options open and if there’s a possible route to approval with discreet nods and winks given, the Saudis will come back on board. What has he had to say about his source telling him "no red flags", "done in the next few days", and other things that utterly failed to happen? Hi Sean, he's written about it in this (and a subsequent article) on the 30th July: https://theathletic.com/1963663/2020/07/30/newcastle-united-takeover-withdraw-staveley-ashley-pif-premier-league/ I'm sure you've read it in your detailed and unbiased quest for the truth, but to summarise, multiple sources from the consortium claimed: "The Premier League gave them “private assurances” before the deal was signed and again in mid-April that “approval would be forthcoming soon” before the mood music changed in June" Mr Masters then confirmed himself 2 weeks later that: "In June, the Premier League board made a clear determination as to which entities it believed would have control over the club following the proposed acquisition, in accordance with the Premier League rules" So only In June did they confirm which entities were to be included. Seems a long time after the tests started no? Either way, since the PL don't refer to any private assurances before or at the beginning of the process, you'll have to decide yourself whether to believe those multiple sources. Happy to help with your question
