  1. I'm not aware of all the intricacies, but how does the Saudi bid for ownership differ from Man City's takeover which was heralded by the football world, and given a red carpet welcome by the PL? Different owners tests back then I believe.
  2. Do you think there's perhaps a risk that you're interpreting the complete lack of information in a way that suits what you would like to happen, rather than what is likely to happen? I think the public withdrawal from the deal, and then complete lack of further public comment, suggests that the Public Investment Fund is no longer in the running to buy NUFC. You seem to think it suggests the absolute opposite? Why did the PL not reject it ? I might have missed this buy why does it matter though? PL apparently gave 2 options to PIF including the arbitration and they decided against either. If they had rejected then PIF would have had (only) the same arbitration option. Same result really
  3. Whenever arbitration should take effect, if it's through CAS you're talking months and months surely. Still feels like game playing by the PL - trying to look reasonable when the reality makes it untenable.
  4. What a ridiculous and divisive statement. Sean taking off and nuking the glasshouse from orbit alongside his best buddy Mr Kettle.
  5. Not individually, obviously there was a cutoff clause in the contract to allow Ashley to pull out after X months and he's chosen to renegotiate. PIF aren't playing but you have to assume Ashley has another option up his sleeve to bin them off....
  6. The only way he can surely back out is if the funds aren't transferred by a defined date. It's locked down and signed - no other loop holes.
  7. Unless exclusivity has been and gone. That's an issue. I'd imagine exclusivity is probably separate to the contract so may not be linked. So whilst in negotiations there would be an exclusivity period, and then a separate defined period post contract signing where funds have to be transferred. E.g. when you sell your house you have sold STC which I'd see as the exclusivity period. Then you exchange contracts and completion is X amount of weeks/months later. Maybe
  8. The source was the PL. They leaked it to recover some credibility/move the noise towards the buyers probably through frustration at getting insufficient/unclear data from the 3 sets of lawyers working the deal. The whole thing is a clusterfuck. Yeah, the buyers would have come out and disputed it if it was made up bollocks. Don't think the PL are totally at fault here.
  9. Didn't Douglas or GC say even the buyers are now not saying what questions they are answering from the PL? If Jacobs is correct then it must be a leak from the PL. You'd think that if it was fully credible and confidential information leaked from the PL, the buyer and/or especially Ashley, would be all over it like a rash, suing the PL for breaching the NDA. If that was the case, I'm not sure what benefit they'd gain by suing the PL.
  10. This. And as Ben Jacobs put in one of his tweets "Sometimes I think NUFC fans just want to hear 'it's happening' regardless of truth/context" - we even had people claiming the Saudis banning Bein was positive news ffs. When you realise that Staveley's track record isn't very good, and that she has been the only one confident of this happening, then sadly this falling though has looked the most likely outcome for a while now. You don't think the other buying parties weren't confident of passing? They just thought they'd spend months of their time and significant financial outlay on a punt? Plus Ashley thought he'd entertain them for the lolz. Your hated of Staveley is mysoginistic and creepy. What was the name of the woman that hurt you so badly? Mysogynistic...at least spell it correctly if it means that much to you Why so melodramatic anyway. She told Caulkin lots of stuff, none of which has come to fruition. Me pointing that out = a hatred based on mysogynistic views I actually Googled it to check the spelling and still fucked it up You go on and on about her and find it a bit weird. Obviously she, the Reuben brothers, PIF, Ashley and whatever legal teams they use ALL thought it would proceed. She did possibly embark on a bit of brinkmanship during the 1st attempted takeover, but they are very much mutually exclusive and if this does fail, it's through no fault of her own.
  11. So why have people said it's a potential blocker? I get it's antagonistic but nothing to do with the takeover really. Piracy - yes I get that.
  12. Out of interest, if you buy the rights to a region then I assume countries in that region are more than entitled to just not broadcast the service? Or are the rights sold by the PL dependent on countries committing to allow the broadcasts? I just don't get what SA have down wrong? They've stamped down on the piracy which is great, but also cancelled beINs service as a result of a long-standing court case. I appreciate beINs rights have lost some value but so what? It doesn't seem related to fit and proper tests and don't get why the PL care - now the piracy aspect is resolved. They've got their money.

  14. I'm personally delighted we're drawing away to a really good team like Brighton.
  15. Pointing out that we're still waiting for her words to become actions = hate It's the constantly pointing it out that's bothersome. They could be answering every question and then the PL get new info and request more just when they think it's done. Plus the assumption that she is Caulkins source. It's not like she's smashing out interview after interview about it. As I said in a previous message, happens all the time with the govt regulators I deal with.
  16. Been saying this for ages too. She doesn't inspire confidence at all to date sadly. I don't really know enough about her to form an opinion yet. This. Doubt anyone knows on here.. I said she doesn't inspire confidence, that's based on her briefing Caulkin with timelines and expectations that she has failed to back up with actions. Over a 3 year period. We do know that much.. Do we? Has he confirmed it's Stavely? Has he ever given direct quotes? How do you know the PL haven't blindsided her with new requests or responses to new information? I deal with a government regulator and they recently blindsided on requests from something 3 years ago. We've spoken monthly since and not mentioned so we thought everything was going perfectly.
  17. PMSL, the PL haven’t said a word to any of the top journalists about the takeover, but Lee“gobshite” Ryder manages to get an exclusive that Saudi cant get the TV rights! Come on get real Man TV rights are nothing to do with the takeover so who's to say if they can discuss or not.
  18. Nothing you can do about it But they'll look to see what they can do. Which is it Steve??
