  1. Fair play TCD, you got some bites.
  2. 4/10 - must try harder.
  3. Think his initial challenge was definitely a case of adrenalin/generally being a mental cunt. He was left far too isolated once we conceded which stopped him from being able to attack Southampton. I'd definitely start him next week.
  4. Not unless another player comes in, all this clamour for the amazing, sensational Mehdi Abeid to replace him is just ridiculous. If Tiote could rediscover his form I'd have Colback out and Tiote in the team in a heartbeat, but at the moment he's our best option alongside Anita unfortunately.
  5. For his first game in English football so soon after signing, his performance was extremely good. Once he adapts he is going to be an absolute boss - his positional sense wasn't great and often tried to do others jobs for them (necessary in our defence I guess!) but that's obviously down to never playing with the defence before today. Couldn't give a f*** if he's 21 or 31, it was a cracking performance.
  6. He does start all the time though. Funny like, I don't remember this fawning over him when he was at Sunderland, or a burning desire for such a great player to play for Newcastle. Everyone thought he was a bland clogger and chuckled at our quality in comparison to theirs. Who's fawning over him? There are few people defending him because he gets over the top criticism/abuse on here. Thankfully it doesn't exist outside this forum. That said I saw some places have him down as MOTM yesterday, which is equally absurd. He shouldn't be in our starting 11 because we should be aiming higher but there is a place for him in our squad. Bang on.
  7. Livid I took Cabaye out of my team - Sterling better play and play well tonight the stupid laughing-gas inhaling cunt.
  8. Although both our goals came from our left flank (first one a lucky deflection on the cross which killed their goalkeeper and the second a cross that Obertan could never produce again even if he tried it 1000 times) both Southampton's goals came from our left flank too. Obertan's tracking back was terrible and resulted in Haidara's inability to quickly commit to attacking 1 certain player. As a result it appears he was at fault for both goals, but really he was hung out to dry by Obershan.
  9. Obertan ahead of Aarons man, fuck off. What a waste - may as well play with 10 men.
  10. I reckon we'll go with Krul Janmaat Willo Collo Haidara Colback Wijnaldum Sissoko De Jong Perez Cisse
  11. He could do well this season tbf, his first full season with us was great although he doesn't have the level of players now. However once he gets his full stamp on a team...
  12. Very good striker and goals ratio wherever he's been, I kna he's a bit of a powerhouse so seems well suited to the league. Not sure of much else besides that.
  13. If Gouffran can score against these clowns, we've got to win!
  14. Wonder how well he does at CB for them.
  15. So Rondon isn't going there then. Wonder where he's off too. My money's on the land of saving money and getting the right deal go go go compare.
  16. How do you know he'll not play as far forward as he did last season? He absolutely excelled at that role so Wenger would be stupid to play him deeper. Also from what I seen in the Community Shield he played behind the striker in the 4-2-3-1, so it doesn't look like that's going to happen at all. Sanchez, Cazorla, Ozil starting every game is a shout - but I doubt Giroud and Walcott will take turns playing striker between them. I see Walcott and Sanchez starting every game tbh, especially given once he came back from injury Walcott looked like Arsenal's best player behind Sanchez.
  17. Got loads of assists in Ligue 1 last season but West Ham are a poor team very short of quality IMO. Plus he hasn't played in England so he'd be a huge gamble I reckon - can't see him performing as well as the likes of Henderson or Chadli no matter what and they're both 0.5 cheaper.
  18. Casually ignoring the fact he moved up a division to join Malaga. I wasn't talking about joining Malaga. I was talking about the manner in which he left as soon as the money went - I'm not holding that fact against him too much as most footballers would nowadays, hence why I used Russia as the main example. But aye, the manner in which he left resulted in a lot of Malaga fans really turning against him, a fella I know out there who runs a hostel I used to visit a lot said he would slit his throat if he ever seen him back in Malaga.
  19. He's a proven mercenary as proven by the fact he's spent his best years of establishing himself as a top footballer in Russia. His stint at Malaga too when they suddenly inherited (and lost) a fuckload of money. Very good player, but I can understand why some teams aren't too willing to take a chance on him - for the amount of money he'd cost there's better options out there IMO.
  20. Not worth 8.5m IMO. I'm sure he was one of the top midfielders last year. 5/6th maybe? Tbh it just depends on who Wenger will play, he has a fantastic disposal of 'midfielders' available to him in Ozil, Walcott, Sanchez, Cazorla, Ramsey, Chamberlain and Wilshere (when fit) so it's difficult to outline who'll play behind the striker in every single game.
  21. Why can't they both just leave/die?
  22. Sho Time

    Players in public

He's probably used to being second choice.
  23. Here's this lucky c***s downfall. Chelsea loanee and Championship Player of the Season Patrick Bamford will gain lots of attention if he can cement a spot up front in Alan Pardew's increasingly attacking Crystal Palace team.
  24. New deal with our current state of CB's I'm happy with because at least now we know we're definitely not getting another CB this year. Allowing him to retain the captaincy is a bad decision as far as I'm concerned - I think he'd be able to reproduce some of his better form if he didn't have the added weight of expectation on his shoulders.
