  1. Everton signing Gerard Deulofeu for 2.2m according to Sky. Seems a decent buy, especially for that money.
  2. It's the sort of thing you can imagine Lampard, Dyer and Nigel Pearson's son getting up to. Hang the lot of them, I say.
  3. Hasn't Kjær got like a 4 for work rate on Football Manager? Don't want him playing for us, like.
  4. I knew I'd get shot down for that, I've never rated the kid. I don't think he's good enough for us nor will he ever be. It'll definitely be a case of time will tell but I've never seen him do much for us apart from the Liverpool game at home. Also, Perez goals and Sammy Ameobi's sudden surge of good form were the major factors for that winning run IMO.

Intelligent? Aye, reet. "Alreet, my names Shola, a like hats n trainers n neon coffee tables n that."
  6. To have Sissoko as your furthest midfielder forward is exactly how you can't score goals. Apart from running with the ball in the middle of the park he is suspect as soon as he gets into the final third of the pitch. You can't play him as a #10 and let him roam out wide because he can't cross a ball to save his life (unless Yohan comes back and he starts sliding in those cut-backs again...) and in the centre he's not great in the air despite his size not to mention his awful shooting ability, he generates plenty of power but there's no accuracy or composure in that sector of the field. The reason - he's never played there before until Pardew took over and used him that way so some people are under the impression he was never a solid B2B deep lying midfielder who started the team moves. That's how he played at Toulouse, that's how he plays for France and that was why Liverpool and Spurs were sniffing around when he was playing in that position. His ability is not to pick out a superb 40-yard pass like what Fabregas does for Chelsea or Cabaye used to do for us, his talent is picking up the ball and breaking with pace and power to get the moves going.
  7. With Sissoko you have someone that is more than capable of driving the ball out of his own half and providing support to attacks while Tiote stays back to cover. The passing/creativity side can go to the other 3 players who are behind the strikers, that's their job.
  8. Yes he can, that was his natural position before Alan Pardew used him as a #10. He's the ideal box-to-box midfielder in a 2 along with a purely defence-minded cover. Tiote on form would be perfect really.

Bas Dost is being doubted about for 9m isn't he? Seems decent value for money based on his stats and a lot of his hype, I haven't seen much of him though.

Seen somewhere on Newsnow that Shola was being considered. God help us.
  11. He had a few good games last season but even the likes of Williamson and Perch had spells where they were impressive. From what I've seen of him all round, he's nowhere near good enough for us.

I'd love it if JC got that job, a lad in my who supports them in my office kept banging on about how I done nowt but moan about him when he was in charge and never gave him any support.

Austin would be a cracking signing but really not sure on Berahino at all, especially seeing as though McClaren said he wants players with character. The only character he has is thinking he's the dogs bollocks because he had half a good season and thus being an absolute bellend. I can't believe he thinks he's good enough for Liverpool.

    Bob Concur

He's totally ruined his legacy to our generation now really, regardless of what he's done for us in the past what he's doing now is nothing short of a betrayal to the football club and the fans.

Also, I would normally never be so elated at someone losing their job - but in this case...

Aye fair point, I wonder how it went down over the phone. "We're going to sack you, do you want to resign, John?" "Nar looka *lick* a kna what this job means to the people of Newcastle *lick* and a worked under Sir Bobby *lick* and am *lick* the best coach in the Premia league *lick lick* "OK John, you're sacked."

    Steve McClaren

I don't understand all this "he's a good coach" talk. If he was such a good coach then how did he completely lose it at Derby with one of the strongest sides in the league and being top of the league at the beginning of March? At Wolfsburg he left a side that had won the league only 2 seasons previously to 1pt above the relegation zone? Couldn't get England into the Euro's, only lasted 10 games at Notts Forest etc. He is a manager that for the past 13 years has failed wherever he has been, minus his stint at Twente. The fact that his most recent jobs have all been at Championship clubs (where he has failed) goes to show his coaching certainly isn't all what people think it is and his managerial ability is just poor. He is not good enough for NUFC (with an ambitious owner) and it's as simple as that. I can't believe quite how many fans are rolling over and taking this???

    Steve McClaren

A fair crack at any job? He's had countless jobs and aside from Twente, done absolutely nowt. His coaching and managerial ability is obviously flawed if he never managed to get Derby 'over the line' and into the Premiership... Even Chris Hughton done it with us with significant ease.

    Steve McClaren

Does anyone know if there was any genuine interest in Thomas Tuchel ? He was my original choice but now he's replaced Klopp at Dortmund. Shame really, our last German manager took us into the CL with the likes of Santiago Munez and Gavin Harris. Would have been nice to see that replicated.

Watford are a Premiership side though. Fair point, I forgot about that...You know what I mean though.

Speaking of Stevie Taylor actually; one of my mates who works for the council was saying that he keeps parking his McLaren in a bus stop in Tynemouth whenever he can't find any parking spaces available and whenever he gets a ticket for it, his mam keeps phoning in to pay for his ticket as well because he "doesn't need the hassle". Absolute tit.
