I think the problem is Newcastle is still a club that Yohan follows and he'll be fully aware of the absolute shambles going on here which is much worse than when he first arrived. With that in mind, I don't think the Dreamboat will be looking to come back any time soon.

Seen Watford have just hired Quique Sanchez Flores as their new gaffer... Even Championship clubs aiming higher than Mike Ashley FFS.

Let's be honest, it's a totally irrelevant appointment. We all know full well as soon as the Derby beckons they'll sack him and bring someone else in to get the new manager syndrome boost - even if our first game of the season is against them, they'll sack Dick 2 weeks before kick-off and bring in whoever.

For all his attitude problems I'd love us to re-sign Demba. He can take Cisse's place in the side and shoot his strawberry syrup all over Cisse's ex-lasses face as well.

So glad this was bumped so I could see this.

Considering Liverpool were expecting to pay around 12-15million for him just last year, I'm sure Hughes won't mind forking out 60k a week on him. If he doesn't suceed doubtless they'll still make a profit off him if they sell him on.

Stoke are definitely putting together a very strong side. How we cannot compete with teams such as Stoke/Swansea either financially or on the field is an absolute joke like.

Honestly reckon I'll punch a bairn if this happens.

@Kazuki The 19th richest club in the world with a global fanbase and a 1 city club that brings over 50,000 fans through the gates each week should realistically expect to be challenging the top 6 every season, they should realistically expect to appoint a credible manager with a proven track record to take the club forward, not just stagnate in the same miserable position year after year. They should be expected to sign a decent calibre of players to take the football club forward for a decent price and pay them realistic wages considering the amount of money they make commercially (60m TV money + sponsors merchandise + gate reciepts etc) which is rising year-on-year. They should be able to challenge for trophies such as the FA Cup and Carling Cup where teams far below us in terms of finances, club size and standard of players have succeeded in either winning the cups or making it to the final in recent years. Realistically, THAT is what we should expect. Under Ashley it will never happen. There is a huge line between what is realistic and what Ashley wants to make us think is realistic.

Considering Afonso fucking Alves got 45 in 39 in the Dutch league I don't think it's that great.
-
Might have a bit of potential but I'm not convinced he's much better than what we have at the moment. The likes of Anita/Colback/Abeid would look like world beaters in the Championship too.

And who finished the season with more Fantasy League points, eh? Aye, exactly.

I think if Charlie Austin can bang in that many goals in a QPR side which was obviously worse than our own (if that's even possible), it goes to show what a fantastic striker he is and with a bit of decent investment in the squad and a OK-ish manager at least, he'd definitely to the business for us. Whether he leaves or not we need a Cisse replacement due to him only having 1 leg and Austin would fit the bill perfectly going off this first season. Ings is maybe a better all round player but he's certainly not the better centre-forward of the two.
-
He'd be brilliant for a team like Swansea, can't see us playing any decent football if we keep employing shite, behind-the-times English managers though.

A chunk of that £200k from the Mirror will definitely be getting lumped on the bandit and a few Gotham trebles tonight. HAPPPPEEEE BORTHDA

I'm always wary of one-season wonders coming from the Championship but sometimes you need to take a risk to get the rewards. Out of the two I'd go for Austin as I think he's more grounded and likely to put the graft in, not to mention I think he's also the better striker.

Really don't want us to bring in that clog-wearing smoggie Schhhhhteve McClaren. Although he isn't the best option available I'd quite like to see us take a punt on Ketsbaia personally.

Don't see how having a British spine will help unless the players are any good. It was great having a few like Barton & Nolan but if they're buying British just to give us a shit team who work hard like a team of Gouffran's whats the point ? We'd just be a Burnley. That said, I don't think there's any truth in that statement for the simple reason that proven British players are usually the most expensive.

It's been the case all this season, using Charnley as his new puppet to demonstrate that Cockney Mafia and Geordie's alike share his ideology for the club. The likely reality is he's just a normal bloke who is being used in a very high position and getting paid about a 10th of what a normal Chief Executive would normally get, which to a normal bloke is a phenomenal luxury wage. Well and truly out of his depth and not cut out for this kind of work or position, but that is irrelevant to Ashley as Charnley is most definitely serving his purpose and as a fan himself, he'll be absolutely hating it - but for the personal gain he is making in finances he'll be sucking it up. I don't feel sorry for him, but I think a lot of the criticism coming his way is unfair and all of it should be directed at Fat Mike.

The whole CabBELLARRRRR thing is just ridiculous. Swear down these commentators have just been watching too much Gavin and Stacey.
