It's a shame he's such a liability defensively and he's a bit thick because technically he's still one of our best players. He'd have a fucking field day with Almiron's pace and ability to run in behind. In fact, if him and Almiron played for 90 mins against any team outside of the top 6 together I'd bet my house he'd (Almiron) score a goal.

Haven't read that much opinion and I'm sure there are less smart people that aren't taken due to his goals/assist ratio despite us breaking our record on him, but the difference he's made since being here with his all-round play is nothing short of phenomenal, we look like an football team capable of actually playing football since his arrival.

Maybe so, but there wasn't even a foul given for that 2-footed challenge where Almiron was running at speed where 1 foot would have sufficed given he'd almost over-ran it anyway. It was dangerous play but not 'uncontrolled' so maybe a red may have been too harsh, but it was without doubt a foul and a yellow at least and you've certainly seen players sent off for that. Maybe I'm only saying that because Almiron got up and played on after a bit of rolling about. If he was indeed injured, it's a simple straight red as you just can't go in 2-footed like that. The refereeing performance was one of the worst I've ever seen.

He can do what he wants when he's scoring goals and playing well, aye. But the fingers in the ear celebration at this point is just a bit weird at this point, especially when you've scored 2 to turn the game round and the fans have been behind you all game and for a few weeks now (coincidentally when you play well, who would have thought it?). I do think Rafa should have a bit of a word with him about it, personally - though I'm not hugely bothered by it. That being said, the chip on his shoulder may well aid his performances - in that case - flash us the V's!

I think it's different, everyone starts on a level playing field at the beginning, whereas Liverpool were 7 points clear more than halfway through the season and as the pressure has mounted they've dropped points at a rapid rate.
