If there's 500 people it'll block the bottom of Northumberland St. Anything over 100 and it'll look like a significant amount. I just mean compared to the amount of fans who'll be showing up to see the game. If we can't get a return of 1 fan out of every 100 to show up it'll look like a bit of a waste of time. Totally get this, but it's a given you're going to get knackers and the individual/group(s) who is promoting this can simply outline how they want the protest to go down and issue a strict warning that troublemakers aren't welcome, it isn't helpful to the cause etc. etc. just to distance themselves from anything that may happen. If it does and one idiot goes to far, it doesn't actually do any harm in getting more attention to the cause. I detest West Ham and their fans but what they did worked, even just for the short term. We really can't afford the chance we have with Rafa right now slip by and the time to sit on our hands and hope for the best unfortunately is gone. He will never sell unless we force the issue.

Do agree with this mind. There needs to be a huge collective and united effort from all groups affiliated with NUFC whether officially or not to finally get rid of this parasite. True Faith, the Mag, NUFC.com etc. I know they've bandied under 'The Magpie Group' and we've yet to see the effect but the word needs spread a lot more strong and there actively needs to be pieces coming out from well-known and respected figures with plenty of coverage really driving to the masses why protesting is not a waste of time and why this is the time to step up and IMO this isn't being pushed quite hard enough to really drive the success we need. I know this is just a forum and I don't know if there's any other reasons besides that why we wouldn't get involved, but I recall RAWK using their forum and platform to help with the Hicks/Gillette protests. If all other groups were both individually (through their own websites/mags) and collectively (as part of The Magpie Group) really pushing the protests, I'm not sure of a reason why there wouldn't be a public show of support so all users and guests could see e.g. a new anti-Ashley banner but is it worth it while other admittedly bigger websites with bigger followings don't appear to be doing this?

Don't think it's anywhere near as bad. Really strange comparison. Cisse was bashing them in for us in the PL, then the decline set in after his first half-season. Gayle on the other hand bashed them in a sub-par league, as expected. Got a serious injury which hampered him just as much mentally as it did physically, then came back to the league which he'd never set on fire like Cisse had and worked his arse off (unlike Cisse) to constantly chase down defenders and get himself in good positions. He never stopped trying. All the best to him, I hope he does well there.

Aye, I feel like I'm prepping a team for the season at the moment. Definitely not the right way to get off to a good start! Think I may replace Firmino with him and make a few midfield adjustments like you mentioned, but I almost feel like I'm gonna get a similar return with a +3.5m outlay. Just need the season to start so I can have my usual shit start and lose interest.

The PFA are there to look after the interests of players, I don't see why they wouldn't deem it necessary to challenge why NUFC are offering a bonus system of only a quarter of last season and penalising the people they are in place to represent.
