I think if given the choice between us and West Ham on the same terms, he would have gone there anyway. Not talking about Broja here but in general, we seem to either not be willing to pay what selling clubs want, or not be an attractive enough proposition for a lot of players. Something has to give before the end of the window.

There's clearly money there to be spent, we were going to buy Ekitike for something around £30 million, and it seems clear we would have paid similar for Diaby also. The main issue I feel is actually attracting quality players. Ekitike didn't want to come, there's every chance Botman even would have preferred Milan (not saying this as a fact before some idiot goes all mental), Eriksen wouldn't have chosen us over Man Utd, is Diaby desperate for a move here? Probably not. Even Broja may prefer West Ham over us. We just don't seem such an attractive proposition to good footballers still. I think that's where the drop in quality/potential to the likes of Toney and Harrison is coming from, players who may be interested and invested in our project. Not fully convinced by either, I've never noticed Harrison before, and Toney seems a bit of a knobhead (the argument a few pages back when he said he plays "nowhere exciting" and to those defending him, he didn't have to tell the guy he was a footballer, but once he did, he invited the question). The one star player who may really want to come here is Bruno's mate Paqueta. We should be going all out for players of his ability.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)
Sean replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
There's nothing wrong with being annoyed by the fact that him and his agent let us spend significant amounts of time trying to get him to agree to move here this summer. If they hadn't wasted our time, we could have spent that time moving for another first choice forward target, possibly already signed and bedding in to the squad. Some of the shit people are coming out with is another matter entirely though -
Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

I think he's absolutely hilarious, intentional or not. Was laughing the whole way through his videos The fact he has the chance to attempt to interview the players (which considering what he's trying to become would be the normal thing to do) but instead videos the most awkward selfies in the world instead tops it all off for me -
Wew, wasn't expecting to see this news today. Never heard of the bloke so I suppose I better do a bit of research before getting excited/worried/suicidal

When you are just giving your opinion, there's no need to correct other peoples opinions and go on as if you are definitely correct and you know it all. A few in here could do with learning that. Then the rest of us wouldn't have to read so much shit
-
Agree with the sentiment but I'm hoping he doesn't get to play next season
-
We're not even linked with him are we? Seems a waste of a discussion to me
-
Is he related to him though? Edit: NPW

No you just chat shit tbh
-
I reckon Ashley bet him to do it
-
Yeah but there is no definite about it. You quoted me as if it's a fact when you were just talking shite
-
No need to worry - we're definitely only signing a young prospect to be backup to Wilson - your words.

Can't even remember as I didn't give much of a shit about the club at that point. Still did fuck all, 3 goals hardly changes that.
-
He's probably the only deadwood that contributed absolutely fuck all, so he's the only one I'll not have the slightest bit of respect for. Glad this waste of space has finally fucked off.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

I'm just a bit pissed at how much of our time him and his agent seem to have wasted. Hopefully in a year or so we can look back and think we ended up getting someone with at least as much potential. -

Well one thing seems pretty clear, PSG and our scouting teams both seem to think Ekitike has more potential than him. -
I nearly said as much in my post, only to see the news like you straight after

I said "kinda hope" not expect. And let's be real, if Nunez had indictated he only wanted to come here this summer, we would have gone for him. So my point that we seem to be unable to attract the calibre of forward we would have ideally liked still stands. Honestly, don't bother quoting me.

Just posted in another thread how he's wasted so much of our time, then see this. Strung us along good and proper it seems. -
I still kinda hope we're looking at better strikers in the background tbh (someone like Osimhen, however unrealistic). We wanted Darwin Nunez by all accounts in January. If I had to guess, we are unable to attract the calibre of forward that we want without just throwing money at them, which we rightly won't do. Ekitike wasted so much of our time. And it's clear he was the young striker we really wanted.

I don't know why the idea of signing Paqueta seems to get a few awful posters' backs up like. Weird as fuck.

If he does leave we need to be looking for another keeper who can provide some competition for Pope. I hope Eddie has a ruthless streak and tells him he's staying, like it or not. There is no absolute guarantee Pope will perform amazingly this season, he may have been told he's seen as the No 1 but he will need to perform to keep the spot. With Darlow as backup, that's not the case and he could have a poor season and we have no alternative.

480p? Nice to see our media team thinks it's still 2002
