Hahaha the Sherminator is a great shout. Love this lad making his case on the last day in a dead rubber match, that pass down the line to send ASM away and the goal line clearance to save the win, sign this fucker up on Monday won't you?

Been watching the interviews and highlights from the Leeds page and just can't stop smiling, glad they stayed up. Both because it's fun to have a new team in the mix, and to have a historic giant back in the fold, and my bias as an American, they talked a lot of shit about Jesse Marsch when he came in so to see him in his jeans with a beer in his hand celebrating the win was just pure unadulterated joy

Yeah that was classic, didn't they lose a motion or something to have the case heard behind closed doors, and then immediately settled once they found out it would be heard publicly?

100% all of this, it's a chance to lock down one of our weaker positions for the next two-three years before the window even starts, and at a discount to boot.

Fucking hell lads, what a crazy ride it's been this season. No matter what happens now Eddie will always be a hero for what he accomplished this season. Also Kieran fucking Trippier for coming in and bagging us nine points on his own, God damn. Finally, spare a thought for old Jonjo whose farcical free kick against Leeds gave us that crucial win going into deadline day and made it look like survival might actually be possible. Not sure the Bruno signing happens without that one. Oh and Bruno coming in and scoring more goals for us in a few weeks than he has in his life, including his first ever header. What the fuck man. What was this season??

Come the fuck on! I know we're "safe" already but I can't bring myself to relax until it's mathematically secure. Wishing this game was not against Chelsea tbh, they seem determined to lose at any cost these days.

He's a great player for a bad team, gives you some threat no matter how the game is going. I don't think he'd fit into a top side, he would really have to go back to basics with his passing, pressing, etc which 1) I don't think he would, and 2) would probably ruin his value as a wildcard x-factor type player anyway. He's a mid-tier luxury player for me, and at the top level if you carry a luxury player their production has to be way better than his. Of course the tricky bit is when you watch us play you can absolutely understand why he never passes, he would do a ton of work, lay the ball off in a good position, and then watch us Bruce it back to the keeper, or fire it 50 yards into the stands. So maybe that would be different in a good team, who knows. He's fine for us right now, but if we get a good offer I have no doubt we can improve the position.

I mean, I'm not saying you're insane but... Do you have any such certificate? https://youtu.be/RWc8JKVm28E

You guys are absolutely crazy, do you remember the games after we lost Wilson and before Wood came in? We were abysmal with ASM at CF and he was completely anonymous. Maybe I am remembering things wrong, but that period was pretty fucking rough. I know Wood isn't great or popular, but playing ASM out of position is not the answer. He is just not a center forward. You know what Chris Wood is? He's fine. Not exciting, not "good", but we'll do fine with him for the last few games, just like we have since he came into the side, and then we have all summer to upgrade.

Do people really want to see ASM starting a game at CF again? I don't.

Saved a goal with that header in our box today. The defender, I think it was Targett, was completely beaten. You could tell how big it was because Dubravka went nuts after.
-
Some S-tier time wasting from this dude today, he really has a bit of everything doesn't he?
-
Yup, this exactly. Though I also really think he has quality and hasn't performed here due to coaching and not getting a real run. Not sure it will ever come off for him here at this point, but I definitely don't understand the folks in the "20 players out, 20 players in" camp, like you know that's how you become Everton right? Miggy is exactly the kind of character you keep during a transition like this, gives everything, versatile, not going to cause a ruckus if he doesn't play every game. The role players are going to be key as we turn the squad over this next couple of years. I mean there are lots of players waaaay higher on the "get rid" list than this guy, and you can't do them all at once.

Angry Almiron is the new meme player, let's fucking go.

I'm most worried about Burnley myself, I absolutely do not want to go into that final game with anything on the line... I wish I could say I was comfortable with out current lead, but we have a lot of hard games left and had a lot of luck on our side during the unbeaten run.
-
That goal was fillllthy, especially if the turn was intentional.
-
That's actually a way cooler idea, I know you're probably joking but... A knockout tournament of all 55 countries would be absolutely insane. Just seed some byes based on ranking and fucking get into it with a 64-team bracket.
-
Best thing about the Euros was that there were less filler teams...

The point of FFP from the beginning has been to keep the small clubs small, which has been working fine. I think we'll be the first big test of it, but I am feeling optimistic that our lawyers will be able to circumvent enough of the rules to break through.

I mean once you go outside the boundaries of "court ordered executions with due process" it's open season my dude. Our police forces execute U.S. citizens without trial or consequence on a regular basis, so you don't even need to go abroad to make your point. Adding in the fact that we've been actively engaged in multiple concurrent wars for the last 20 years or so is really kind of cheating.
-
Maybe that's part of why I don't give a fuck about Saudi ownership, other than being happy to win some games. When you're in a country that does lethal injection by whatever you have around the house, allows police to routinely execute citizens without due process, and is in the process of reinstating the Jim Crowe laws and rolling back the civil rights act, it kind of disillusions you about the merits of one government or another. I'm glad I don't live in a theocratic police state such as Saudi, I'm also well aware that I live right next fucking door. You guys aren't that far behind us for that matter, you just need some snake handling episcopalians and you'll be right in with a shout.

Just looked that up, we did 25 in 2018, 22 in 2019, and then 17 in 2020 but you know COVID-19 probably made it challenging to perform as many executions as we would like. There is also a worrying situation in the US where pharmaceutical companies are refusing to provide the chemicals used in lethal injections, so many states are saying "fuck it" and using homebrewed concoctions with absolutely horrific results. So it's really just a question of scale. 81 people in a day seems like a lot, but the U.S. does routinely executive its citizens as a matter of course, and those executions are occasionally proved to have been the result of false convictions. I'm sure the number of actual false convictions is higher than the number that have been proved, as well. I'm against it of course because, while I do think some offenders are probably best rehabilitated via murder, I do not have any faith in the ability of our legal system to determine who those people are either accurately or fairly.
