He's our main goal threat and he did score against West Brom. Goals aside his hold up play has been good. So yeah...him being injured is a get out of jail card.McClarens get out of jail card - got an excuse now for a few more games.
Aye, our striker who's not scoring goals is injured. That's a great out of jail card.

Leicester are the perfect example of the difference a quality manager makes. Ashley has to acted now - Rafa would see us safe.
-
Totally conned the ref there
-
Ashley will listen to Charnley and he picked McClaren so he's not likely to sack him.

Laughs his way through post match interviews, as if nowts the matter. This is him after today...
Loving life. No problems at all.
Those interviews have wound me up more than the performance. Making it sound like this was a one off.
He certainly doesn't look like a man who is fearing the sack.
-
Just watched the full interview....his tune hasn't changed since game one....and we're still in bottom 3. Time to go.

I think 3 games will define our season:
Bournemouth (H)
Sunderland (H)
Norwich (A)
Lose any of those and we're definitely down.
-
How can he smile after a performance like that.

What a spineless man. Takes no responsibility.

On this evidence it's quite conclusive that it isn't the formation or line-up at away games that's the problem, but the mentality and possibly the match preparation. Once the match has started, he clearly has no idea how to change it. A top manager would have spotted the amount of space the likes of Willian and Fabregas were getting in the middle and countered it immediately after going 2 goals behind in such a short space of time.

Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren: "We’ll just have to make sure the next 12 games are good ones" #CHENEW
That's all right then.

Reward for today - training camp in Murcia,

I look at the squad of players we have, we are nothing special, but definitely capable of better. Sorry Steve but you are out of your depth.
Squad is better than our position. I wasn't expecting us to win today but it was the way we lost. Lack of an any remnants of tactics is what's worrying the most.
The squad is f***ing s****, lacking in key areas and horrendously lopsided, but he's not getting the most out of it.
Be absolutely amazed if they had any sort of plan in place for him not to be here either, just like the dickhead before him.
That's my point - its not a bottom 3 squad - no way.

Rodgers or Moyes which one saves us
Garcia or Benitez please.
-
Surely Ashley realises he can't risk keeping him in charge.
-
Well that was a painful watch.
-
Ashley's personal signings carrying us here, thank f*** he saved the club in the window.
Who needs to buy defenders.....
-
Hazard still can't score
-
Please don't give Taylor a new contract.
-
UTTER USELESS REF !!
Dirty challenge
-
Is Wijnaldum still on the pitch?
Is anyone on the pitch?
-
Actually starting to hate Sissoko. He just does not give a f***. Disgraceful lack of effort.
None of them look like they care. If we get relegated they can either leave or sit on their full salaries. None have relegation clauses as far as I am aware.
