I went to Rangers v Livingston last weekend and realised what football is all about. I know people don't like Rangers but the atmosphere in Louden Tavern before and after the game was something we don't see near SJP anymore. About 200 Rangers fans singing both recent songs and songs about their history. As the players walked out the tunnel, I found myself underneath a huge banner with a picture of Lee Wallace and the word CAPTAIN. The atmosphere within the ground was superb - it reminded me of the early to mid 2000s at SJP where everyone was behind the team. What summed it up for me was the bloke standing next to me who must have been mid 80s. He asked me about Newcastle and then pointed to the Sports Direct signs within the ground and said "that's what's wrong with our clubs". I couldn't disagree, we talked about Ashley for 10 minutes and not a good word was said. I had to tell him that I was in awe of the Gers fans who forced him out. In a total difference to the old man sitting next to me, there was a boy of around 10 year old 2 rows in front. He stood on his seat throughout the whole game and sang every song. When the song died out half way through he carried it on till the end. I actually thought to myself, "this is what football is all about" - an old passionate bloke who still cares and a young kid who has it all to come. Are we the only club who don't have stalls around the ground selling knock off merchandise? In all my time following NUFC away from home I've always seen these stalls and it was the same last week. The scarf sellers, the badge sellers and there was even an old woman selling bags of sweets that you'd only see at a community centre fund raiser around here. I'll be back in February for Rangers v St Mirren but for now, this was what football is all about for me. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Almost all of my mates have a Scottish team that they support. Whilst my Celtic supporting mate has just got tickets to see Celtic v Ajax, I'm going up on Saturday to watch Rangers v Livingston

I'm at the Fed now where he is doing a talk in tonight. Not expecting much from him.

That video is pure unbridled love. That's the f***ing club editing anime clips into goal videos. I want to support a team that loves football that much. The only thing we'd add to highlight clips are Sports Direct ads. It's superb.

Just been spending my Thursday night watching YT clips of HBA. So much and :'( at the same time. My and my mate were on about booking up to go and watch a Dortmund game around October/November time but I think I'll persuade him to go and watch Nice. Another injury and his career could end, need to see him 1 more time at least before it's over.

Fair enough. I can't stand anything pro Ashley after what he's done to this club so I always end up getting slightly irate when people have a go at those who at least try to bring change.

Protests had no effect MIKE ASHLEY DONE AN INTERVIEW LIVE ON SKY!!!

SEMTEX has got this absolutely spot on. We've beat Northampton at home, had an OK transfer window (signing potential, again) and all of a sudden nothing is wrong. Our fans loyal watchers really do like living up to their stereotype.

I think he was actually referring to the fans who used to make SJP a real atmospheric place to go and watch football. The same fans who made away trips enjoyable with constant singing and not just a bunch of kids dressed in stone island. A lot of the old school crowd don't go to either now, and those are the people who went for decades. They used to go in the "real bad times" as we keep on being told, but even they haven't got the stomach to put up with the current shambles. I've got massive respect for those who've packed in, for a lot of people who I know it certainly wasn't/isn't an easy decision to make. For those who continue to go, it makes me sad, but it is their decision and I try not to get too wound up by their determination to destroy the club.

Yeah, pretty much nobody but Guardiola (who'd managed him) thought much of Busquets while he was in our youth teams. That isn't my point. The average English football fan (the type that would watch a Newcastle reserve game) under-rated Busquets for a long time because he initially didn't stand out. I'm saying a few people watching our reserve games saying he doesn't standout - doesn't necessarily dictate that he's actual bang average. It might take you to actually concentrate on his movement, his passing etc. to appreciate his abilities. Possibly.

Even if we had a quality squad and a cup challenging team I wouldn't go back. We've sold our souls as a fan base, and we've happily allowed ourselves to become commercialised beyond return. The state of that ground is an utter joke with SD plastered everywhere and those signs wont disappear until Mike Ashley does.

What the fuck are you on about?

The Journal journo? According to his Twitter he's watched cricket this evening.

Slim, has Santoon/Mandoon given up on the club altogether? Noticed he hasn't been on here for a long time. He's still posting about us on Twitter a lot. Least he's OK. Didn't expect him to go missing from here because he used to be on loads.

I've noticed that as well. Pretty sure one of the draws was last year and maybe the year before that we got drawn against them in the practice draw. Only a matter of time before the law of averages pins us against them.
