What? Are you saying you can't think of a single job a Christian would refuse to do because of his faith? Off the top of my head: A priest who declines to marry gay couples. A priest isn't paid to marry gay couples though - for example, working within the Catholic church, I doubt it is in his job description. Papiss Cisse is paid to play football for Newcastle United and, in line with employment law, he must wear a unifom if one is neccesary as dictated by his employers.

What conclusion do you take from that though? We are discussing Papiss Cisses refusal to wear the shirt based on his religious beliefs, as implied by the PFA and also by his agent. A respected member of the local muslim community has came out and said that there is no picking and choosing when it comes to Islam. I conclude that he is not actually that religious and there is an underlying reason as to why he won't wear the shirt, with the Wonga issue being used as a cover story. As an aside, I do wonder why the Chronicle haven't reported it.

All about Santa and booze tbh. f*** the religious side, apart from the times at school when they forced your into carols and s*** who really does it? It's still a religious holiday though, innit? Or at least it has been since those mad Christian c***s hijacked our lovely pagan festival. Quite a few people celebrate Christmas while railing against religion. Rather hypocritical by the standards we've set for Cisse. I bet few of those who celebrate Christmas aren't as keen as giving s*** up for Lent either. And since an all in or all out policy for Cisse and his religion has been adopted by some on here it's only fair anyone criticising him either stop celebrating Christmas (no holidays, no presents, no watching The Snowman) or, alternatively, throw themselves into Christianity. All of it. Even the s*** bits. I'm an atheist anyway but I don't know of an Christians who are currently using their religion as a reason to not do their job which they are paid for.

Does he participate in Ramadan? According to N-O you can pick and choose which rules of the religion to adhere to. Do you celebrate Christmas? I'm not a massive fan and generally don't like the whole event. I certainly don't celebrate it from a religious aspect although some family members do. The only celebrations of Christmas I have is going on the drink but consideing it's one of my best mates birthdays on Christmas day, it's more of a celebration for that than Christmas. I know that you will be a massive fan of Christmas, after all you are the son of god.

So you didn't want to be on tele, big deal. Do you think Cisse wanted to be splashed all over the papers in a casino? f***ing hell. The papers took it from twitter - I didn't post it on the internet. When he goes to a casino he.must know he is.going to be recognised because of the job he has.

I thought the money shop in Felling had been took over by Ramsdens.

Yep, they certainly never exposed him due to the hundreds of re tweets of a picture I never put in the public domain.

It wasn't the harassment that made me answer some questions. It was the fact that someone asked me a question and if someone asks me something I normally answer them. Like I've said above, I never spread the picture and I don't even have twitter so hardly made sure journos knew about it. Look north wanted to do a video today which I refused as there is no way I want to be on tele. I've only said he was there that night and he was betting small amounts for a premier league player.

    1. I didn't put the picture online (may have put it on here, players in public thread in November) 2. I don't use twitter so I hardly caused it to spread around the internet. 3. I answered some questions that were asked to me in a phone call and told the truth.

"Grassing up" - It's common knowledge anyway and, in my opinion, he's trying to force a move away. I thought some might see it as bad crack but everyone has their choice and opinion. Fair enough. The chances of us seeing the situation resolved have reduced dramatically as a result and we've no chance of finding a better striker than Cisse. But at least you got your name in the paper. Your opinion. I think they may have ran with the story anyway, without me speaking to them. The picture was all over the internet.

Was the photo recent? Nah, it was the night before I travelled to Bruges so I think it would have been the Tuesday night, first week in November. It says that in the mirror article.

I changed my mind over the course of the afternoon after my phone was bombarded. All I done was told them what I'd seen, which didn't really amount to much but that journalist has tried his best with it.

They've rang me today and want to do an interview with me for the 6 o clock news, I said yes at first then thought about it and rang back to say I wouldn't be able to. They have been trying to speak to his agent today but as of around midday hadn't been able to speak to him.

So what? He knows what they are now. If he wants to force a move, he can force one without this excuse. Footballers do it every single day. He looks like the good guy doing it this way though. It's nothing to do with the Catholic/Christian argument either - he proclaims to be a practicing Muslim when he quite clearly isn't. He is using his religion to force a move elsewhere, I've no doubt about that. He can only force a move if someone wants him. Are you saying he's been tapped up? It might just be he wants a better deal here. It's all guesswork really. Not so sure now that Hiddink has left but Anzhi were heavily linked.

No, no, it's simply not possible that he could have religious and moral objections to encouraging people to take out loans at extortionate rates of interest that could ruin their lives while thinking it does less harm to spend some of his own money in a casino. I mean, what sense would that make? it has to be absolutely all or nothing in every situation, that's what the real world's like, innit? It's like someone saying "Sorry, as a Catholic I don't think I can promote an abortion provider on my shirt" BULLSHIT, I've seen you eat meat on a Friday! LIAR! What's your real reason?! People pointed out that having a sponsor like Wonga could cause these types of issues. Cisse's well within his rights to object to promoting them. He's forcing a move, a think it's clear to see that. He probably didn't even know who/what Wonga were until they sponsered us.

That's my picture so I hope it's not printed. My mate text me this morning asking for me to send it to him, he puts it on Facebook and the next thing some mackem at work comes up to is and says "You seen the Cisse picture, it's on our forum". Are you 100% sure that was him? Aye, it was the night before we played Bruges away. I was talking to him for a bit about why he wasn't playing over there etc. Shame the picture quality isn't a bit better like.

  23. I'd say there is also a lot of people on here who watch a lot of football. Remember if you bet on a match then you automatically qualify to watch it online with most decent bookies. plus the fact ESPN have some French football as well as review programmes.
