  1. Can't see any kind of deal being done unfortunately. I'd like him to stay around the place in some capacity, not sure on his coaching credentials but he's obviously very popular and can be a positive influence in the dressing room. Edit: talking about a non playing role for him, though he likely wants to play on
  2. Regarding point 2, there is a reason and since the turn of the year we've seen it. There's the risk that by investing little into the staff and playing side of the club, you can slip off the gravy train.
  3. I think it's a way of coping with relegation. Aye, it's shit, but we'll sell the club and things will get better. But they won't. It'll be like last time, go with what we have with minimal investment, only this time what we have isn't as committed.
  4. Who will want to buy NUFC knowing there'll be a big rebuild to get them back into the premier League? Why not just buy a team already in the Premiership? Can't see many decent buyers wanting to invest in a Championship club with a rebuild job on their hands. Our best chance of selling the club comes with being a Premiership club.
  5. Id look forward to seeing him playing and being fully fit but does it even matter when he'll be in a team coached by fucking idiots.

The Bobby bit and Gazzas response brought a bit of a lump to my throat like. Will be worth a watch.

    John Carver

Ryder has tweeted saying Carver didn't offer to resign and the club didn't ask him to. Probably more covering up from the club to make everything seem hunky dory.
  8. Have to rely on WBA being absolutely shit, and I'm talking worse than us. We won't pull anything out of the bag here. 2-0 WBA.
  9. Lowes is right. Can't we all just get along and pretend that the fucking horrific decision to let Carver finish the season is perfectly fine? After yesterday, the protests need to get louder and bigger.

    Steve McClaren

10 years ago we were an attractive proposition. A lot of managers wanting to be the one who finally woke the 'sleeping giant' in the north and realised this clubs potential. Now, it's stay in the league and sell your best players, and maybe in time we'll replace them. Wouldn't want to take that job on either, not unless I fancied just existing as a football manager and cashing in cheques. McLaren obviously has more ambition than that, and fair play to him. He may not be great but he wants to be, unlike this shadow of a club.

All the shit they've pulled in the past, and I'm astonished at this. Really should have expected it, we're just not ran like a football club should be.

Hopefully these talks are about John Carver stepping down into his old role. Can't see him being sacked so not even suggesting that.

Which puppet do they pull out next then?

Because we have to pay Derby to get him, and if I were McLaren I'd want a decent sign on fee due to the risk and a bonus for securing top flight status.

Swift? At least we'd get a song all about the break up after she's fired.

When was the last time a player came out in the media in support of him? Don't seem to get those sound bites anymore.

The absurdity of this is that there is no comparison between the cost of relegation and getting rid of the current coaching staff. Ashley's a gambler. He'll take the risk to save the smaller cash sum and count it as a gain.
  18. Written from a template. *insert opponents name here* *insert club name here*
  19. He's not up to the fight and he'll be feeling the pressure. Was very deliberate IMO.
  20. Haven't seen the latest exchange but his press conference from Wednesday boiled my piss. What an odious, condescending bloke.
  21. Obviously the Chronicle is having a slow news day.

I get the impression that he feels that the more he speaks to the media, the more it legitimises his position as a manager. The only explanation I have for the amount of guff he speaks.

Erm, so why speak to these two lads on a one to one basis...when he could set the record straight for the other thousands of newcastle fans who have the same questions. All he has to do is just speak about what his plans were in that interview. He's hoping that by letting them watch a bit of training and meeting a few players that they'll not say anything else on the matter and it'll look like he's won them round.
