It's good that we're away from the relegation zone, but I'm still pissed that this jammy bastard is still in a job. He rides his wave of form well but equally, when we're in a rut it often lasts an absolute age. I don't think there's anything to look forward to while this man is in charge and Ashley owns the club. The future is bleak and 5 straight wins might erase the incompetence of his reign for some fans but not for any with a modicum of sense.

There's some truth in this. Ben Arfa endeared himself with the fans and should still be playing here but I do think he has a questionable attitude at times.

Wasn't it Kenny Miller Yep, the worst prem team in history and Big Sam played for a nil nil, we ended up losing. Same team again we went 1-0 down then equalised, then 2-1 and a last minute Mark Viduka goal saved us. This is the flipp side of what fat man was banging on about the other day, adjusting his teams to play other teams. When he gets it wrong its absolutely terrible. He failed to mentioned that. Setting a team up to play for a 0-0 against the worst prem side ever! Imagine a bloke like that getting a job he feels he deserves like Real Madrid and setting up like that? he'd be hounded out the city before half time.

Derby that season as well. Was a disgusting approach from Allardyce tbh.
-
If anything will remind anyone of the type of manager Allardyce is, that's it.
-
I'm sure there would have been similar posts when Allardyce was manager here. Long ball up to Owen or Martins, Smith on the right of midfield.. I think the credit for the form this season has to go to Sheringham.

@OptaJoe: 82% - Newcastle United have scored a higher proportion of second half goals than any other team in the top flight. Patient.

We will, purely because no one will buy him in January carrying an injury. No one wanted him when he was fully fit. He'll make a few appearances before the end of the campaign then remain in our squad going into next season imo.

I've got all the time in the world for Wenger like. Such an awesome guy.
-
His presence in the team allowed Sissoko to play centrally so this is bad news. Real shame that Moussa will be shifted out wide again when he's shown what he can do in the middle.

4 wins on the bounce, you have to give credit where it's due. Now confidence is up, a clear, attacking style of play should be formed as what we've seen recently isn't sustainable. This is where Pardew will be lacking. He can ride a wave but struggles to get back on the surf board when we fall into the sea, which every team does.
-
People just get caught up after a few wins. Pardew still isn't the right man and it won't be long until its business as usual with the poor decisions and long runs without a win.
-
What happened to Diarra? So highly rated at one point. Just a couple of bad moves chasing the money?
-
The trial has gone cold on Castiagnos. Just as we feared.
-
Oh aye, just realised how long Taylor's arms would have to be for it to be his hand.
-
Has Taylor got an apple tattooed on his hand?
-
Just fancied a bit read of it really.
-
With Pardew in charge, the possibility that this guy is being mismanaged and is in fact good enough is too big to ignore.

A bloke at work has been talking about an article someone wrote not too long back which said Shearer was past his best when he came here and if we'd invested the money in defence, we'd have won the league. Not found anything on Google about it, anyone have a link for it? He can't remember who wrote it.

I'd love to see us win a cup, but just like Wednesday night, I think Pardew will put out teams that will give us the best possible chance of losing. Pardew will be reminded of the supposed correlation between cup runs and relegation and most fans will be satisfied with reaching the last 8. Pardew dropped his arse over our Saturday kick off being 2 hours earlier than others, imagine him in December with so many difficult games, he'll be ultra negative going into Spurs away.
-
The way some go on about the 5th place finish, if he wins a cup he'll be here until he retires.

Watching Aarons in that interview, the kid seems so grounded.
