  1. I read an article a few years ago which pointed out the wonder kids of games gone by who had gone on to be brilliant in real life. Vincent Kompany was one. Then you have guys like vanden Borre who didn't live up to their FM ability. Wenger is a definite advocate of the game IMO.
  2. There's merits to using the game to make your life as a manager easier, I just don't see how a top FM player would make a good manager. So much more to managing, the pressures alone are far different and then you have the human side to it, managing 25 men from different backgrounds with different demands and issues. You might get a good idea of the tactical side to it, but the games have exploits where certain formations and training set ups get great results on that version of the game.

Perhaps he's the kind of guy who if you tell him he can't do something, he'll go out of his way to prove you wrong? Either way, I can't see the merit in telling him he's good enough if he's not. You have to be realistic, look at his weaknesses and start working on them and keep that hunger in him to secure a new deal, because up to this point it doesn't look like he's been worth one.

  5. Janmaat is quality but why is the image for the thread on Tapatalk one of Brazil's Fred?
  6. Rodgers career as a player was cut short due to an injury. If he wanted to continue in football, then it was as a coach or a manager. Rogers retired young to lock himself in his bedroom for 10 years and play Football Manager and learn to be a good manager. A career in the army was an option, but he didn't enjoy Call of Duty so wasn't great at shooting a gun.
  7. He's doing well, he's had a good start to his career here.

He should frame that picture and put it on his living room wall.
  9. This'll work. This will definitely work.
  10. Good point. He's right up there with Fernando Torres.
  11. and not a single fuck was given that day.
  12. Nice bit of tapping up by the King. He needs to realise that not every manager welcomes it like he does.
  13. Yeah, Henderson isn't a player to lift a team, more a player who performs comfortably when the team does.

    Ryan Taylor

Dr Richard Steadman is at the hospital with him according to Ryder. He watched the game in the stands today.
  15. Checked the result on here as a total after thought today. Another win, woop-de-doo. Means nowt, we'll take our foot off the gas soon and have a long losing streak before the season ends. Probably as a result of selling Sissoko or a similarly important player in January.
  16. Just had a read. Fucks sake.
  17. So much wrong from Redknapp in that interview. If I were a Prem manager, I'd want to know the ins and outs of every other club in the division, no way he can be that fucking ignorant.

A player who never wants for money promoting a pay day loan company to people who struggle every month with their debt and living costs. Can never get my head around this deal with Wonga. There were other equivalent offers on the table from far more respectable businesses. Wonga is ridiculous. Yeah, they gave the name back to St James Park but very little else since then.
  19. Bad news for England, too. Potentially needs surgery to correct this if its recurring.
  20. I take football man to mean the kind of bloke who organises Sunday league and watches the Prem games down the pub while his wife and kids struggle at home on Smart Price bread.
