  1. Full England caps only? Coz Mancienne was appearing for the U21s while with Hamburger SV.
  2. Les Ferdinand has been appointed Head of Football Operations at QPR.
  3. I don't totally rate Marv, but you need players of his ilk in your team or you'll struggle to create chances. It's stupid that we haven't got that central player other than de Jong, but I'd say he was a different type of option.
  4. Williamson will say whatever they want him to.
  5. This whole episode is embarrassing. More should be made by the media of M'Biwas success in Italy.

    Sunderland

His comments about being glad Clive Clarke (Sunderland player on loan at Leicester) had a heart attack the same night as Sunderland were beat 3-0 by Luton, were shocking. He's said he was surprised they found a heart. Also once again said he doesn't regret the Haaland incident. Cretin of a bloke.
  7. Flares fired pic needed right... about... now.
  8. Bruce probably feels a loyalty to the players on the books permanently as well. Give them a chance before the loan signing. They're doing okay, could do better and that's where HBA will come in.
  9. He's declined physically and he's never been a great athlete in terms of strength and pace. He's also stopped giving a fuck. Sad to see, even sadder that we don't have an alternative as we shipped him out to Roma for free effectively.

Any pics of the scissors on its own? I think you and I own the same pair.
  12. He wasn't good enough really, but he provided something that no one else in this team really did. De Jong is probably better than him, imo, but we all know how that has gone thus far. Not good enough but the likes of Colback and Gouffran are. He has shown some flashes for this club, and has obvious attributes, but his performances were very inconsistent especially domestically, even when he was given ample time on the pitch (the near relegation season), imo. Pardew treated him poorly, that is unquestionable, but there is little evidence that he would be transformative this season. Ben Arfa and Yanga-Mbiwa are different cases in my opinion at least. Yeah, I'm with you there. Marveaux was frustrating. We should have replaced him in the squad, definitely, but Marv was hardly great.
  13. From the little we've seen of him, he seems a down to earth guy. Basing that entirely off him visiting a Blyth Spartans match, but that was encouraging to see. From the little we've seen on the pitch, I'd drop Rivière for him with no hesitation. Perez looks ready. He'll learn the league as he goes, which is the only way you can do it really.
  14. Dougie Freedman left Bolton today. You want to call him or should I? Maybe hold out for Riga at Blackpool?

  16. Don't think we should settle for just anyone, with the primary reason being that it's "not Pardew". Guess that this is the way the club has conditioned the fans to think, though. I still hold hopes that a good manager will come in. Pulis had a good new manager bounce at Palace then quit as he knew he couldn't replicate it without serious investment. Sherwood, I wouldn't risk.

    The England Thread

Guy gets no respect. Such a dangerous player. Mentioned him and Routledge earlier. Went off Dyer massively when he threw a hissy fit in the cup final as he wanted to take the penalty for selfish reasons to complete a hat trick.
  18. This whole episode can be summed up by a simple facepalm. There it is. Well done Alan Pardew.
  19. 10/3 with Sky Bet to go down. Lumping on it this afternoon.
  20. Rob Lee will want the exposure his TS call will bring in, and he won't burn any bridges with a fellow pro incase they find themselves booked for the same show, or the show refuses to have Lee on for slating the other guest.
  21. Have to agree, I don't see how relegation this time has any positives. Except maybe Pardew going obviously. Folk can throw the word around like its no big deal, but relegation can be absolutely devastating to a football club. I don't want to chance that at all. I enjoyed our season in the Championship, mainly because we won most games, but the thought of spending anymore than a season down there is absolutely depressing. Imagine being one of the also rans year after year. Spending so much time in the Championship that even being a Villa or a Stoke would be an attractive proposition. Yeah, relegation is awful. I didn't enjoy the Championship at all, although it was probably a good way to get rid of all the baggage we were carrying. Going into that season after that Orient game in particular, it was terrifying. Another relegation looked more likely than a promotion at that stage. I think that gets forgotten, just how dark things looked for a spell before the points started rolling in.

  23. We had a good core of players the last time we were relegated. Along with the right manager at the right time, we made promotion look easy. I'm not so sure this time. I absolutely don't want this club to go down. Ashley wouldn't drop his asking price by much, we'd still be a very expensive club to buy even I'm the Championship. So likelihood would be we were stuck with him. Much better chance of him finding a buyer in the Prem, a buyer who wants to get the club into the CL and make money that way.

    Moussa Sissoko

A good footballer would be able to pass a ball, he's just a bit quick and big - nothing special Doesn't look out of place when he's given minutes in what is currently a very good French NT.
