  1. We had a good core of players the last time we were relegated. Along with the right manager at the right time, we made promotion look easy. I'm not so sure this time. I absolutely don't want this club to go down. Ashley wouldn't drop his asking price by much, we'd still be a very expensive club to buy even I'm the Championship. So likelihood would be we were stuck with him. Much better chance of him finding a buyer in the Prem, a buyer who wants to get the club into the CL and make money that way.

    Moussa Sissoko

A good footballer would be able to pass a ball, he's just a bit quick and big - nothing special Doesn't look out of place when he's given minutes in what is currently a very good French NT.
  3. Ashley doesn't care about external pressure. What people think of Pardew won't matter a jot to him. If it did, Pardew would be gone now. Ashley must really think that Pardew can turn this around, and the people advising Ashley on the matter must think the same.

Very difficult to judge individuals when they're working under an uninspiring, clueless manager.
  5. It's rare that a club will act that quickly when you have legal ramifications to consider and the pay off to negotiate.
  6. Should go today and the search for the new manager should begin if it hasn't already. 2 weeks break after Swansea is as good as a new manager can hope for at this stage in the season, to get bedded in and work with those not on international duty.

    Papiss Cissé

Doesn't feel right that this player is being risked when he isn't at full fitness.
  8. Your reputation rests on finding good players and when they do come, they're coached by Pardew and Carver. I'd be disgusted too. Fuck knows why Carr doesn't scout for a team that'll better appreciate his findings.

Needs someone next to him to scream "Gore! Gore! Gore!" repeatedly until it actually becomes annoying.
  10. He admitted himself when he left that he didn't want to come here, but we offered ridiculous wages so he signed. He wasn't arsed at all.
  11. Hopefully he starts tomorrow night and shines against Premiership champions, Man City.
  12. Will be an honour for you to get the first one out the way with a convincing 5-0 trouncing.
  13. Worst case scenario, we get a draw and this drags on until the next game. A convincing defeat like we suffered against Southampton and I'm sure he's gone.
  14. I don't want Venables to manage this club. If we get rid of Pardew, I'd expect them to recruit a good manager. Whether they do or not, that's another matter, but we shouldn't just accept any old has-been just because he isn't Pardew. I dread to think that people would be happy with Venables here. Just because the club are shit, and the fans are treat like shit, doesn't mean we should accept it.
  15. Seems like anyone could be a journalist at the Chronicle. So he came as close to managing Newcastle United as I have. Leon Ryan at Whitley Bay is on the precipice.
  16. Would mean we had a young, relatively experienced centre back available for selection, rather than the two on the wrong side of 30 and one unreliable one in his 'prime'.
  17. Why is Willo undroppable, though. Pardew wants that no nonsense guy in defence, the guy who will hoof it if in doubt. Taylor is too rash at times, and he's prone to those action man moments.
  18. He was Coloccini's replacement, and when he didn't go he was a bit part player. Probably would have worked out for him if Colo had gone back to Argentina.
  19. After the success of rushing Cisse back, we'll probably see Ryan Taylor take up the right back spot.
  20. There are easier ways to sign Kuyt.
  21. I wouldn't want him to be the man to negotiate with and entice new signings here. Very uninspiring man.
  22. Sickens me that it's plastered on the baby kits too.
  23. Does anyone else think its a bit crass to have Wonga all over a support for Jonas shirt? This fucking club man Yes, very.

No goals in our Championship season, then 6 in 11 and 4 in 18 in the Premiership. Think the latter stat is the fairer reflection of him. He added something to the team with his running and determination, we have that now in Riviere but his technique doesn't look as good and I don't know where he's going to get goals from. Still adjusting though, of course.

He served his purpose here and did a good job, but the fact that people are saying we shouldn't have let him go just goes to show how little we have progressed as a club. Regressed, if anything.
