  1. I think Suarez is better because Suarez can create and score while van Persie doesn't anymore or the last season or two anyway which I would judge as his prime. Van Persie started out more as a 10 who created rather than scored but as he became a more goalscoring type of striker he stopped creating. If you look at the Liverpool Man City game from last week Suarez didn't score himself but created numerous opportunities for teammates.
  2. Fabregas/Cleverley Tongue in cheek I hope
  3. He's never done it in Europe or in major international tournaments

It's one of the most pointless graphs yet. His highest score according to that is versus Hull which was his worst starting performance of the season and one of his lowest versus Villa when he ran the show. Am I missing something? It's supposed to be the higher the better, is it? Or the higher the less selfish? Well, so what - he was s**** against Hull after a superb performance against Villa and since then he's largely been played out of position or benched. Utterly pointless stat unless you are Leon Britton or somebody s*** like that with no flair
  5. I think what others have said is correct. 8th is about where we should be finishing. We are in the strange position of being in a group with maybe just Everton and us, Southampton at a push that are much better than the teams below us outside the top 8/9 and are worse than the teams above us.
  6. The anxious one . Just fuck off Martin Tyler you don't deserve to live
  7. Cabaye gets away with poor performances while other talented players don't
  8. Are you playing 4 attacking midfielders again?

He wouldn't have to chase the game if he started

His runs worked today Clearly. A clear example of "if he doesn't score a goal or assist in his limited pitch time he's failed" This is genuinely baffling to me, hence me rambling on like a cock end in this thread. Not what I was suggesting, but I do think he negates our other players when he takes things on his shoulders. Even if he does have limited success doing so. It wasn't his worst game, but if he had played more patiently, I think we would've had more chances. You want him to play patiently when we're 1-0 down and into injury time? He came on in the 62nd minute... The only impatient moment I saw from him was in the last minute. Before that he was winning corners and playing sensibly

His runs worked today Clearly. They did. He beat his man every time and won corners.

He's playing well and works his socks off but why is he "undroppable"? You never heard of squad rotation before? It's actually quite common so I'd be surprised if you haven't. I would "drop" Sissoko at home if we're going to play 4-3-3 like, not Gouffran. He's our best, most consistent player. Teams generally don't tend to drop those. What? He's our best, most consistent player. Whilst being happy to criticise HBA, that is quite a funny statement! Are you really saying that Gouff for all his work rate etc is our best player? How many games does he go missing? Where is my criticism of Ben Arfa btw? You'll be going years back to possibly find any criticism from me. Any negative comments on HBAs performances have been placed at the feet of his manager who got him playing perfectly then decided (like he did with Cheick "Essien" Tiote) to change him. Out of interest to those questioning my comment on Gouffran being our best player, who would you choose? All of our "better" players have had spells of being pretty poor. Remy is the only one I can think of but even he had 5 games without a game and when he isn't scoring he doesn't contribute much. Gouffran is played out of position pretty much every game but how often are we moaning about his performances? How often isn't he one of out better players? What about today? What did Gouffran do today?

Yes its ridiculous. What did Sissoko, Gouffran and even probably our second best player Cabaye create today. Our biggest attacking threat until HBA came on was our outstanding right back. Cabaye and HBA seem to be judged totally differently. Cabaye can go a whole game creating nothing and be lavished with praise if we win while Ben Arfa is expected to create something every time he has the ball, which he usually does.
  16. Its not like we were living on edge defending like our lives depended on it in the first half. We were as attacking as Arsenal were The only time we attacked was probably near the end of the half. And even then that came from Arsenal mistake. When did Arsenal attack?

  18. No we didn't. Pardew was ok today. We were playing Arsenal not some shit team
  19. I must have missed all those chances we created in the first half
  20. I'm really enjoying that we are capable of playing against the top teams and looking at least as good as them. No matter what the result is today I think we will be staying in the top 7 all season
  21. I love Medel. A bit like Tiote. Surely Ki is good enough for Swansea?
