Lets get in to theser rancid cunts.
-
Yes and no right and this is why the rules are drafted this way. Remember transfer fees are accounted for over the course of a player's contract so when you buy a player your suffering for the length of the contract not just one year.
-
In an ideal world I wouldn't renew but we might be left with no choice because of budget constraints.
-
Tino inexplicably only has 2 years left and seemingly isn't interested in renewing so we will have to shift him. We might end up pricing Sandro out of a move as he's got a long time left.
-
We sell two purples this summer imo. The test is going to be replacing them and how we we approach it. Biggest window since the first January one under these owners.
-
It is, if we didn't sell the stadium to ourselves we would have lost 90m. I think realistically speaking the right answer is we can't compete for such players right now. In the future that will hopefully change but our revenue still lags behind the cartel clubs and squad coat for us is especially punishing because to attract good players, we have to pay premiums as we are less desirable. Basically financially, we can't really afford to pay premiums in terms of fees and wages, we will have to either find cheaper options or embrace selling players.
-
Tino was signed under Ashworth right? I find it odd we didn't put an option to extend his deal by another year unilaterally. Something we should have with all of our signings
-
I think we haven't seen the best of Tino yet but obviously he will be away, that being said we bought him and will make a profit, he never signed a new deal so I doubt his contract was huge as well. Williams would come in probably for about what we paid for Tino but likely on a higher salary and without the headroom we had when Tino came in. He'd do a job for us though
-
Because the fees and wages are inflated to a point it isn't sustainable for us to do so.
-
Aye massive gap, but I do think when you look at a package (wages plus fee) we wouldn't want to spend much more than that as a fee on a squad player with limited potential to grow. Wouldn't be the worst signing by any means but imo we need players who can kick on and actually be competitive and fight for a place in a teams who's stated ambition is to be qualifying for the CL.
-
At the same time, we can't be paying premiums for average premier league squad players either. As others have said though watching him means just that, no indication we will go beyond that.
-
This is correct imo. Unfortunately we aren't at the level of the cartel clubs and this we are food. We have to keep pushing forward on the pitch and focus on increasing our revenue to get to the point we can compete. We can't outmuscle them, so we have to outsmart them.
-
Hes likely too expensive to be a back up and not good enough to be a starter. Realistically we shouldn't be expecting 24 year olds to improve much tbh.
-
Contracted until 2029. They will definitely want money.
-
@lovejoyis a canny poster who does get info. If he says we are watching him I believe it
-
Not a player you'd want to spend money or pay PL wages for. (Our average salary per player is now at 100k per week). Basically too expensive to be a back up and not good enough to be a starter.
-
He's a bit of a nothing player, and would be an odd signing imo.
-
Would ya swap him for Sandro? Sell Sandro by Anderson?
-
Waitrose ain't cheap. What's more ridiculous Anderson at 100m or space x at 1.6trillion?
-
Wolt was obviously a panic buy but at least somewhat logical. We can sell him and not make a massive accounting loss so actually he's much lower risk than Wissa in that regard. Rumours are Eddie can be very nasty when needed, I think our troubled are a bit more nuanced than him being too nice.
-
831m worth of a net debt too btw.
-
So you think the club (well in the summer nobody was around ) bought Eddie a 55m 29 year old against his will? Wissa shouldnt be a sick to beat Eddie with but was without much doubt a manger led signing. He doesn't play because he isn't very good, it was a text book panic buy.
-
Wissa was injured and probably the one who id be most certainly being manager led. Imo a lot of credit was burnt by Eddie bringing in Wissa given the cost and age profile.
