Gomis is becoming more and more the player I want even if he isn't that great. We desperately need a forward with strength to get Shola out of the side. I suppose, playing devil's advocate for a moment, you couldn't really say that a 2 footed tackle is a 1 game ban if you get the ball but a 3 game ban if you get the man. If he'd connected with their player, he'd have more than likely broken the lad's leg. The fact that the tackle was very well timed and, indeed, aimed and the other player wasn't hurt-or even touched-will count for nothing given the 'what if' scenario.

Frankly, after the assault on Haidara last season which went unpunished, the FA's view on what is/isn't a bad tackle and what the punishment should be is a fecking joke. Whilst he shouldn't have made the tackle knowing what the consequences and subsequent punishment could be, 3 games for getting the ball is too harsh, imo.

Even though he got the ball, you can't jump in two-footed like that...needs to cut that out of his game. Pretty sure he got away with something similar against Arsenal. Mind, having said that, the way the Boat Burners on ReadyToGiggle are going on, you'd think he couldn't have gone in harder or faster if he'd been in the Hadron Collider.

Yep. I've not been happy with some of the performances against the poorer sides but when you look at how we utterly outclassed Palace today I think that view explains itself. We can play excellent, attacking football and Pardew should take credit for that. We're just too negative too often, needlessly. But yeah, you can't argue with our points tally at this point. Aye, all of this, basically. Frustrates the feck out of me when we're so negative if we take the lead, especially at home...but, there are enough positives for me to live with the frustration!
