I think he didn't care whether he stamped on his head or not, rather than it being intentional. Reckless play or whatever. 5 game ban seems harsh but I would have understood maybe 3 games.
-
Nah there's been shorter reigns, he's got until the end of the season

Still question marks over the structural integrity of your bed.
-
He'll only get so many chances though, why rush into first team management? It's not a bad thing to realise you're not totally ready yet, there's other ways to work on things and improve himself than to immediately jump into another first team manager role if this one continues to not work out.
-
Yeah but for me the goalkeeper position needs to be solid first and foremost, unless you've got someone who you know in time will be absolutely amazing. It's not like a young winger who can come on for 20 minutes here and there to slowly improve, without much consequence if he has a bad game. If he's not up to standard already then he will cost us points that will be even more precious in the premier league while we're waiting for him to potentially improve.
-
Also true. Was maybe a bit early for him. Go back to coaching and try again in 5-10 years when he's a bit more experienced and frankly the rather daft but likely thing of players maybe respecting someone olders opinions a bit more.
-
Maybe just doesn't have the right character to be a manager. Clearly must have some good ideas about him to get the jobs that he's had.
-
Dyche's done a good job that they're not even in the relegation conversation with 12 games to go. Hope Howe can turn it around too because he's a very likeable guy and plays good football. Think it'll be hull, Boro and Swansea, based on nothing but instinct really.
-
He's not better than the diminished Krul of the last couple of years even, don't think it's even close.
-
Nah I'd just like them to suffer a bit then come back up when we are hopefully sorted out into a top 8 Everton level kind of team, so we can (hopefully) batter them a few times. Would miss the derbies if they are gone too long.
-
He'll be fine back in the premier league as well if we get a better player on the left wing ahead of him. We could definitely get better than him but not as easily as some people seem to think.
-
Would be very happy with Hart obviously, imagine his wages will be too much though.
-
Goes without saying really but however well Darlow does until the end of the season we need a solid new keeper next year. Doesn't have to be some young upstart who might be the next De Gea in a few years, just a reliable 7/10 premier league goalie with a good injury record. Would be great if we just paid Chelsea the £10m or whatever they would want for Begovic so we just don't have to worry about that position for a while.

Re the negativity. I've absolutely no problem with people being negative during games, it's tense and emotional at the best of times nvm when we're behind in a key game at a critical point in the season. We haven't been performing well recently despite some results so it's completely fair to be worried, some posts were over the top but again that's to be expected during a game like that. Other than one poster obviously being deliberately antagonistic I don't think there was too much to be embarassed about in the thread, all things considered.

Who's the best attacking player (because there's obviously loads and loads of defensive and midfield options) never to win a ballon d'or or equivalent? Henry probably deserved one at some point. Plenty who can count themselves unlucky to be around at the same point as Messi/Ronaldo.
-
Obviously need a new keeper next year anyway so just pick the guy who'll be the safest for the next few months, regardless of age. It's not like Darlows still a fetus anyway. For me that's disappointingly Elliot.
-
Mitrovic and Colback were decent enough and we won, so people are desperately looking for an outlet for their rage I guess.
-
No bookings and an acceptable performance
-
They can also be wrong
-
There are zero arguments against I can see other than spite.
-
Maybe he's just worried about Benitez potentially leaving in the summer if Ashley messes him around and is hedging his bets? Or again perhaps its simply not true
-
He resurrected his own England career with his performances for us, we didn't hand it on a platter to him.

How much do people like Clement get paid? Assistants at top clubs? Just realised I've no idea.
