Predictions league 2015/16 - Now with average N-O prediction table!
Altamullan replied to Magpie's topic in Football
After 28 sets of predictions our group guesses (median home and away goals, turned into results) look like this: Bournemouth 1-2 Newcastle (Home Win 6: Draw 4: Away Win 18) Leicester 2-1 Watford (Home Win 21: Draw 2: Away Win 0) Man Utd 2-0 West Brom (Home Win 26: Draw 0: Away Win 0) Norwich 1-1 Swansea (Home Win 7: Draw 14: Away Win 7) Sunderland 1-2 Southampton (Home Win 3: Draw 7: Away Win 18) West Ham 1-2 Everton (Home Win 4: Draw 17: Away Win 7) Stoke 1-2 Chelsea (Home Win 5: Draw 4: Away Win 19) Aston Villa 1-3 Man City (Home Win 1: Draw 1: Away Win 26) Arsenal 2-1 Spurs (Home Win 20: Draw 8: Away Win 0) Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace (Home Win 25: Draw 2: Away Win 1) I’ve also shown the range of results predicted. Man Utd v West Brom has the most nominations (9). No nominations yet for the game at Norwich. -
Trying to look knowledgeable and nonchalant DW said: " Sorry, what did you say... that treatment helped, you're fit and ready to play?" His eyebrows rising high as if attempting to form a new hairline, gave away his sense of surprise.

Still joint first dude, not dislodged yet! And Magpie in his usual courteous way has left you top of the pile; even if only on alphabetical order -

In terms of scoring, this week was a bit like a frustrating nil-nil draw (mmm wonder why that analogy sprang to mind). The highest scoring game (tale of two Citys: Citeh and Cit-ooharrr-y [i’m definitely losing it now]) returning 84 points, with only one correct score (well done jdckelly). Sadly no 10 pointers this week, though the nominations did pull us out of the mire a little, with two people recouping 6 points and 13 getting 4 points for their correct result. The average score was 15.4, the third lowest so far (just using current group of players), so well done to the five 20+ scorers; particularly timeEd32 with 23 and Magpie himself, whose fantastic consistency over the last five weeks sees him catch Froggy and perch (ahem...) on the top of the table (drawing line at any mention of stealing silverware...OK, nearly drawing the line). Lawro would have a good week, scoring 22 points. As would his guest, Rugby League bod Sean ‘Man Utd’ Tomkins, with 20 points. The latter includes a well impressive 5 points for the Chelsea Liverpool 1-3. Our ‘Group Guess’ (median of our H scores vs. median of our A scores) total was a low 11, usually an indication of some bookie-baffling low probability results. -
Good news: in five home games, Bournemouth have scored a total of five goals. (only Villa and Watford, 3 each, and Stoke with 4, have scored fewer. We've scored 11 at home FWIW--6 from Gini). Bad news: in five away games we've scored a total of one goal. Worst in league (WBA 3 and Stoke 5, are next worst).

Yep, would take him. Though getting tired of promising up-and-coming types (and another red-headed ex-Maknamara might give a few people aneurysms...).

It's always annoying when you make a change for the worse. I had us as a draw and Leicester to win, and changed to two home wins. The original scores weren't right, but it is still irritating. I also managed to talk myself out of Watford winning 2-0. Think I am just going to stop tinkering, the pleasure of an improved result doesn't seem to outweigh the impact of changes for the worse. -
Re Vardy, this and Beren's point, i.e. reminds me of Bellamy: an irritating little prick, but one you'd rather have playing for you than against you.

Anybody know how many chances Mitro has had? Wondering what his return rate looks like (mins played, chances, goals).
-
Good luck to him. Hope he shows his worth/makes the move permanent.

If Ayoze was flagging/as tired as people have said, it was an ideal opportunity: Gini behind Mitro, Thauvin left. Feel like SMc has to 'sensibly' gamble with him, and show a belief in him (beyond what he feels) to raise confidence and get him firing on all cylinders. One thing's certain, it isn't going to happen solely through training, talking, or reserves.
