The second clearance attempt that's being overlooked. The ball never went direct to Longstaff, it went to their player to clear it into Longstaff. Whatever our opinions on the merits of offside/onside, active/inactive etc. The law now means we had a perfectly good goal ruled out, and the officials on the pitch and in the VAR room showed their ineptitude, it's just a shambles.

Felipe didn't intentionally play it toward Longstaff he was blocking/intercepting the ball. At no stage was Dennis was offside, and Botman was passing the ball back to Pope, the two incidents aren't comparable imo. Just my opinion mate.
-
I know the law mate but the active/non active is daft in the area like that. That's my opinion of offside, i think it's a step too far in trying to eradicate daft offside decisions, as it turns out that was a daft offside decision according the law now

It was what Isak said that Navas knew he'd take it, then Tripps too the ball to keep Navas away from him. Whatever the situation i've never enjoyed such shithousing as much as now
-
For me Longstaff gains the advantage being beyond the defence. I find it weird that if it's deflected to he's OK and not ruled as active, but if a players blocks (plays at) a shot or pass then he's active. What's the point of a line if a player can just stand yards off, and if a defender plays at a pass he's onside, for me that's just ridiculous.

I think what's most worrying about the officials in our country is that they got the law wrong, not something like was it a dive or was there enough contact etc. They got the law wrong, that's just unforgivable really and shows how incompetent our officiating is.
-
How that can be ruled onside is ridiculous, that's where tweaking the offside law is detrimental to the game. How on earth can the defender know if Salah hasn't run from an onside position, he has to play at the ball he cannot know Salah was offside from the initial pass. Just a shambles by the fucktards who decide and make those changes.

If the ball is deflected by a Forest player with no intent to play the ball then Longstaff is offside. It was clearly played at by the Forest player so Longstaff should be ruled onside. I still think that's a bullshit law as Longstaff should be ruled offside in either case, but as the law stands he wasn't and the officials got it wrong. And something seemingly overlooked is the ball was played at twice by Forest players. Just piss poor interpretation by piss poor officials.

Isak after the game said that Navas knew he was taking it anyway, but I don't suppose all the other Forest plays did. Matters not, It's just another example of our top shithousing Honestly I can't wait for the next one

Nope, Eddie said ASM had a calf strain and was struggling, it's why he moved him in the middle the last 5 minutes of the first half. He had to come off.
-
And we've conceded just 19 goals in 26 league games, that's just mental

Played well today, much better performance that the last few.

Something rather ignored is the yellow by Semedo on Murphy, Murphy would have had a shot on target, but that was deemed a yellow as there was player was in the middle but not covering, who in my opinion wouldn't have got across to block or prevent a shot.
-
You couldn't have booked him if you deem it a foul, as he's not gone for the ball at all, it's an automatic red by the laws of the game (Sorry just realised you knew that, i need to read better) I'm with you though, i don't think its a blatant professional foul, as in a pull or a trip but there's no wiggle room in the decision on a GK in the box. I think that's why it wasn't given, it wasn't enough to warrant a red, it's either that or nothing as we saw.
-
Feck Wolves anyhoo, the decision they've got against in the past, Dubs foul, the elbow to Ayoze. We were due one of those dodgy decisions.
-
Nah, had a shuffle around of the desk and my typing is all over the place, i only moved the keyboard a bit like
-
Going for the ball is a yellow, Pope's would have been red as it was a deliberate foul.
-
Clattered, you call that a clattering you big old tart Still a pen mind
-
I think Jimenez is already throwing himself into Pope, still a penalty for me mind, but you can see why it wasn't given.
