Kid's clothes & shoes are zero rated in the UK aren't they? Don't know about the rest of the EU, but this suggests not. Would think that's a significant percentage of sales. "2.3 million children found to be in persistent poverty", would suggest you're correct.
-
hahaha take that, poor people! I would have thought my extensive knowledge on the inventory of B+M would identify me as poor, like.
-
On the subject of fat poor people shopping at SD, he's not alone in providing shite for the ever-growing poverty market. You've got home bargains and B&M, to name two. Just because you can only afford to feed your kids on Pot Noodles and Parma Violets, doesn't mean you don't deserve a garden swing-seat to park your fat arse in, when it's just too hot to move.

Any idea how much he'll claim back from HMRC? Its really difficult to put a decent guess on it as what we don't know is the breakdown of the £600m bill. Trying to be a bit realistic, 25% of the bill being interest etc would be sensible so £480 would be VAT. Belgian VAT is 21% and as most of these sales were post 2011 UK VAT has been 20% for the full time - the UK VAT paid on sales would be £457m. Putting together SD would have to find the £120m fine/interest and £23m additional VAT (Assuming HMRC accept that the VAT was paid in error and not as a malicious attempt to pay less VAT in which case they would levy their own fines...... appreciated. Would the same apply to any other countries that do the same? I mean if other countries slapped him with a bill? He is currently down £143 mill? Is that right? So if the impact on share price means the price of repurchasing is reduced by more than £143M he's done okay. I'm not suggestig he's an evil genius that planned this all along, I'm just not convinced it's anything to celebrate. £457milion taken from HMRC will lead to an increased number of customers for him.

I've learned to never get my hopes up when Mike Ashley is involved, whether that be relating to NUFC or his own personal downfall. If he wants to take it all back, tomorrow could be like all his birthdays at once. I've no doubt that tax bill doesn't concern him. I wouldn't have a clue why, but he's known about it long enough.

Yeah. Let's wait and see. I'm waiting on nothing. By all means go and burn the place down if you lot wish. What do I care. I'll look on with interest either way. It's really quite simple and a big relief. Really going to just enjoy watching football this season without any major concerns over how Newcastle are doing. Fair enough. I've lost interest in football, only NUFC kept me interested. The game is nothing more than a spectacle for TV these days. I just think that enough time has passed now, to eliminate the possibility that The fat cunt is simply a hungry caterpillar who will turn into a beautiful butterfly on the last page. I understand your point of view completely. Personally, I grew up playing the game a ton, and so will always enjoy watching it, purely for what happens on the pitch, and appreciating what different players and teams are capable of. It's always purely been about that for me. I am genuinely looking forward to getting back to that more and not getting wound up by what is going on with Newcastle, as has so often been the case for a good while now. Kanji[/member] - That is exactly it. So often recently I haven't even been watching the other games or highlights, because I'm so annoyed at what is happening with Newcastle. It's been so tedious, honestly. Again fair enough. I played football just about everyday growing up, and I loved the game for the same reasons. But fuck it. I hated Jimmy Hill, he spoilt MOTD. I thought the digital age would have eliminated the annoying additions to the game but now there's literally thousands of Jimmy Hills.

Would you have to be a mastermind to put out fake takeover rumours? Would you fuck. Let's be clear here. the KBA Truthers out there aren't just crediting him with some kind of leak to the press but orchestrating the whole thing, up to and including BZGs involvement/non-involvement. Don't be silly. There''s no proof the ghost of Elvis Presley didn't produce those leaks. Wow, must be just as likely as any other explanation then I guess, right? No, that's not how that works. Absolutely! I mean the suggestion that a PR firm has been doing PR is fucking insane. PR is more than arranging photoshoots with cancer patients, y'knaa?

its the working classes, people with little money and kids to clothe etc. not everyone can afford to shop at JD. they're hardly going to boycott SD because Ashley's fucked our club. and I dont think we should criticise them because of it. That's nonsense, there's a load of cheap clothes shops people can go to. Plus why does anyone have to clothe their kids in Donnay or Lonsdale from head to foot? Surely even things like Asda's George range is just as cheap and doesn't make you look like complete chav scum. Or Primark. Or anywhere. There's maybe a want or a desire to shop in SD from some people, clearly, as they have massive revenues. But there's not a need. It's still a choice which can be avoided by literally anyone. Not too sure about this. I don't think kids are too aware of which labels are good/bad. If it's a label, it's designer. If it's asda, or Primark, you're a dirty tramp.

Could have just sent him to dover, to pluck him from the air.

Yeah. Let's wait and see.

Ashley admitted his PR was shite. And then immediately sacked the firm responsible for his PR. Oh no, Hang on. That didn't happen did it?
-
What pressure can we put on SD? Time to focus on the club surely? The attacks on their twitter feed were effective, I thought.

But you will still follow games and want Sports Direct United to win? I live In Florida. At 7 or 9 or 10a on a Saturday or Sunday I’ll watch and follow our matches on tv yes. And when I watch my teams, I want them to win. Not sure how you can call Sports Direct United (cos that's what it is) your club, but carry on. You really are a simpleton. The guy makes an excellent post that I'm sure 95% of people on here agree with and you can make a childish dig. I enjoyed the last 2/3 seasons with Rafa and the team played a part in that so yeah, I'll support them from afar without giving a penny to the club. If the day comes when those players have been replaced by Bruce's men then yes, my affiliation will have diminished. I'd sarcastically tell you to carry on, but aware you will relentlessly anyway. Anyone in their right mind knows the club died when Rafa left, but carry on supporting SD United, Ashley FC, take your pick. Nah. The club died long ago. Rafa was just that thing that dead people sometimes do, that fills you with hope.

Dunno. Dunno what to believe, but if this is true then we can infer that the group Caulkin knows about haven't made a bid. Unless it's been sat on the table all this time.
-
Unfortunately I think mike is right on this one. He and you have never been more wrong A lot of it is no doubt bullshit but don’t think Rafa is as innocent as everyone thinks he is Explain. Rafa played a fantastic game the whole time he was here. Leaking stuff to the press at the perfect times. One example being Rafa’s people informed sky that he’d be at the training ground? Why? Coz it would whip the fans into a frenzy. I love Rafa and I hate Ashley but Rafa played a good political game I don't think that should be held against anybody working for CUNT.
-
Rafa has to respond to those accusations.
-
Everybody except those who are in a position to influence, those who provide him the platform to tell his lies.
-
Couldn't agree more. And it highlights (as if it should be needed by now) the role the media play in facilitating it.
-
Hope you mean millions instead of thousands I do - its Friday, its late and my dealings in this have been in the thousands (my defence your honour) Sounds good to me mate.. anything that could possibly cause this cunt to sell is a plus. And if he got hit from most of the countries in the EU that would be the icing on the cake. If he was hit by all the other countries would he also be in a position to reclaim tax paid to HMRC?
-
Who wants to keep hold of their shares now?
-
Or he could, as per his MO, tell them to forget about a bump and take what they're given, thank him and fuck off. Then take it private for £400 million.

Well done sir, what a scoop. Twitter must be preparing for your coronation, as we speak. Not you Charlie's, Simon Neville. Straight from the horses mouth an all that.
