Because there’s simply ZERO chance of his keeping fit for a whole season?! Lucky if you can keep him fit for a whole training session.

Are you being serious? He deserves abuse from the first minute, he's done f*** all wrong man Surely he deserves a chance atleast? He's a fat manure mackem shithead who pretends to be a Newcastle fan and is a horrible yes man snake. Yes he should be as he shouldn't be here. Accepting him is accepting Ashley's version of nufc  christ... You're actually adcovating hounding out a manager before his first game in charge? Can we not just atleast give him a chance i'm not as rabid as the others but bruce "deserves" nothing whatsoever imo, if he goes out and gets results then i'll maybe grudgingly accept him as a competent football manager but he's got it all to prove no one else should be greeted with indifference until he proves he deserves otherwise one way or another Abuse included.

That's really a load of crap. The people who persist in supporting this shite are not the vocal ones. Did anybody sing McClaren's name? Carver? I'll be honest with you, i'm fed up with fans having a go at each other (so I'm having a go at you, I know). People giving up season tickets, only now, berating peoplel for going a year further than them. I totaly understand the draw of loyalty points. You only have to consider why they were introduced in the first place, to grasp the hold they have over the consumer. It's very admirable if you've sacrificed 500 loyalty points, but it'ss a fucking sad indictment that you've accrued them in the first place.

I think he's a great player to have on the bench. If we're losing and the other team are sitting back he'll get the space he needs to oprate in, likewise if we are winning and the other team are pushing their midfield up for an equaliser. I also think people are harsh on him. The first time he was picked up for his hands on his knees was after he had just ran the length of the pitch to support our forward, the fact he got back as far as he did was impressive. And now he does the same ting in our first pre-season friendly? You just know most o the people complaining about this couldn't run to the end of their garden path, in peak condition.

Well need him when Schar and Lejeune are sold.

It's all wallpaper, innit?

he's literally phoning that in who on earth is that kid next to him trying to land jokes the whole time, tragic His own personal Jack Whitehall.

I get that point but my opinion is while I consider it unlikely he'd sell in the short to medium term while in the prem I consider the chances of him selling outside the prem to be basically zero. I see it the other way around. While the club is in the Premier League, he gets free global exposure for his main business. In the Championship he has to put money in to try and get back to that, with comparatively very little exposure. I think a failed promotion bid or even relegation to league one would see him sell because he'd no longer be milking a cash cow and would have to invest in it with unknown returns. I actually see that as the only circumstance in which he'll sell. Totally agree. He's already got an asset worth something. The day the club stops turning a profit for him is the day he slaughters his cash cow. His stated aim was to make the club self-sustaining, at a time that he wasn't paying for his advertising/brand association. As long as the club isn't costing him anything (it never will, it's always loans), and provides the promise of premier League exposure, he'll keep going. He's already demonstrated he's happy to risk relegation to the Championship (now I've got Top Cat in my head, how does that work so quickly?) with umbrella payments, and the investment loan necessary to returm. Keep the media interested, to an extent, mitigate losses for a year, ready to recoup in the follow up. Maybe a second season in the most hip hop will cause him to re-evaluate.

I mean, obviously don't fight people, but "go back to your council house, you peasant" is an amazing comeback "Cous cous nonce" was much more imaginative.

I really hope you're not being serious According to the bookies. Here's a list of people who've previously worked with Steve Bruce. Anybody fancy parting with a fiver?
-
Pretty sure Bruce won't be sitting on him during the games, so yes. He will be directing the team to launch 50 yard Balls at him though and will drop him the second we get a bad result Even under Pardew (a worse manager) the likes of Ba and Cabaye still managed to excel. Your post is so over the top. But the point is nothing matters now, don't you agree? If anything we want him to fail as we want SD United to fail. People discussing signings, formations etc like it matters anymore is mad, and i have to question anyone doing so whether they fully understand what is going on. I'm sorry like but I'll never bring myself to actively want my club to lose, if only because losing doesn't change anything. Ashley will still be here, the sports direct logos will still surround the stadium... If anything I feel like we're more likely to be sold by having a fluke season like the Pardew one and showing would-be investors the potential... Is renewing season tickets and buying merch a mugs game? Aye, it probably is. But ostracising fellow fans for wanting the club to do well? Nah, that's not on in my opinion. When you actively want the club to lose, when it means nothing to you, that's when Ashley won. I think there’s a lot of emotion around at the moment, I hope we all don’t get into a “scab” mentality on here soon. If people wanna go/discuss then we should never really challenge it, we are better than this, have your view but don’t carry it on every day, I’m guilty of it and many more are, in truth I’m beginning to wonder why I’m here, I’m NOT supporting that club anymore. The match threads should be interesting, those who protest I take it won’t be on it, like myself, if we are we are hypocrites no? I said for many the test will be when the season starts and we get a win and the itch starts, many will resist ,me included but some just won’t admit it and have a sneak peak at the games, we’re all human ffs. Let’s not turn on each other eh ? doesn't bother me how people choose to deal with the situation on a personal level, but shaming other fans who can't bring themselves to want the club to lose is dog shite, as is telling people they shouldn't discuss potential transfers etc on a forum that was literally invented for such topics of conversation...I've been at best borderline-apathetic about the club for the entirety of Ashley's reign, but I'll never actively seek out a Newcastle result and hope we've lost, I just don't see what we gain from it. I sincerely, almost completely and entirely believe that relegation would only make us more likely to be stuck with Ashley for a longer period of time The current situation is shit but turning on each other isn't the answer, nobody here is a "better fan" than anyone else no matter how you deal with what's going on. See I wanted us to lose when Pardew was in charge. I also think I'm going to want us to lose this season (can't be sure yet as it's a feeling that comes from the gut). In terms of relegation meaning we are more likely to be stuck with Ashley, it's pretty clear he won't sell in the PL, so why not take our chances. Also, if he stays owner then I want him to lose everything. If that means the club being 5/6 divisions down then so be it. (The reality is nobody knows what will make him want to sell). I just don't see anything to support at this time. The only thing that will encourage him to sell is when his association with us is toxic for SD.

Looks alreet from that distance, TBH. Bigger things to get wound up about, ordinarily. But these are far from ordinary times, so all power to your elbow, those who are submitting complaints.
-
He's already up to 131 so that problem has been fixed.
-
I'm not 100% convinced it's not Joe Lycett we're after. Did Joe Kinnear have any involvement?

Somebody check who is Snodgrass's PR representative.

Ah man, it hurts just reading that. I guess it's a lot easier for us far away fans to get disenfranchised, but when the city is revibrating like days gone by and everybody talks about the day to day business of the club with pride and fondness I imagine it must be very hard for locals to resist getting drawn back in. My three match going mates from 2004-06 are still going and therefore maybe so would I if I still lived in the area, out of friendship, loyalty and plain old habit. They're all well in their fiftees now, and Ashley is ruining any chance they will ever have of seeing this club compete for trophies or at least try to, just like he is doing for thousands upon thousands of others. It's not often I wish misery on someone, but I hope Ashley rots in hell for what he's done and continue to do to us fans, all for a few million on top of the billions he already has. He's a fucking disgrace. It’s the damage to the city, my home, that annoys me more than anything about all this by a long, long way. Like it or lump it Newcastle United is the beacon of the city and now the last redeemable quality has gone the light has stopped shining, Nah. It's just night time mate. The light will return in the morning.

Nee panic. That wasn't our strongest team. Probably will be by the time the season starts though, LOL.

It's not called 'Direct Sports' by any chance, is it?
-
I know it won't happen, but I'd love Leicester to win the title again, with wor Ayo banging them in [casually] for fun.
-
I'd rather that happened to Sports Direct. You just now that CUNT will walk away from it richer than when he came, if the club collapses. Destroy his one true love so he has no choice but to give the club to the fans, in exchange for letting him leave.
-
I would think that, if the accounts are poor, this is strictly down to recent investments which have yet to see a return. Next year there will be returns (possibly minimal but still essentially free) and no crazy investment. If SD performs as it always does then the shares rise again. I'm sure this is his MO. If you think abou it, the club being relegated, and losing it's global coverage, every now and then, would proably help in that regard.

Buying back shares is insider trading, is it? OK. Hence the question mark. It must be dodgy somewhere - it’s Ashley. I doubt he does anything that dubious in financial trading. The punishmens are hefty if you fuck with them. My thoughts would be that either; a) the accounts will be good and he has bought his shares, knowing this. Or b) the accounts are poor, and he has bought them at the last legitimate opportunity, securing the best legal price.

Sources close to the IFAB say directives on the new handball law are to make NO distinction as to how the ball came to hit a hand/arm. Even if deflected on to it. Or apparently blasted against. If the arm makes the body larger (as it does) that is penalised. Hmm. This is gonna be really dumb, attackers are going to be trying to deliberately play the ball off a defenders arm. What the hell is going to happen to defenders in the wall at free kicks too? Some choice, defend your balls and give away a penalty or potentially take one in the nards. Clearly the focus on Women's football has muddied their thinking.
