Newcastle United 2-3 Liverpool - 04/05/19 - Post match reaction from p 27

Geezer doesn't seem to know whether it was the club that sold the tickets, or fans just being a bit scouse. Still happy to blame anybody but those responsible. Poor buggers, couldn't sit on a bus for 4 hours without the need to unleash their aggression at the end. It's no way to expect a human to behave. -
Rafa doesn't want to have to overachieve, just to retain PL status.

If you went to Newcastle games in the 80s you'd be aware we had our very own reputation worthy service crew. -

He was closing down the cross, in the corner, for the second. Think it was Hayden that let Salah stroll past and into the box. -

I know pretty much nowt about it but don't most teams mark zonally these days? They used to, when Lascelles was scoring from corners. Everybody was lambasted for it though, so I don`t know. -

Concur with the two four posts above. Watching the flag unfurling, yesterday, wiped away the reality for a brief, spiritual moment. This club will always belong to this city, and it`s global fan-base. -

Thought Schar was poor but don't know how you make out Schar was at fault for the first goal. Van Dijk was Lascelles' man and he lost him I`m not sure if it was just luck, or VVD was a bit clever, but Lascelles was so eager to follow him that he didn`t realise he`d transformed into Sadio Mane. -

Not yesterday, thought his passing was poor and put us in trouble a couple of times especially 3 passes to the opposition, in a 10 minute period, first half. One of them was after a brilliant bit of defending as well. As for Lascelles, I wonder if the occasion got to him. I know he was only out for one game, but is it not always after he's been injured that he struggles to compose himself? -

Shouldn’t be knowingly allowed, In the man united game there was a Man U fan giving it what for in the box behind me. Should be instantly chucked out and the owner of the box reprimanded. Instead was just told to move up behind the glass in the box No reason money should buy immunity from the rules. And I don’t agree people with money are better behaved. Met the same majority of cunt rich people in my life than poor people I didn't say people with money are well behaved, I said there is an assumption, which isn't afforded to the ordinary fan. And the majority of them, just like the ordinary fan, do behave. -
Not at all. The referee’s are just useless and corrupt. Hasn’t one former referee already and came out said he was told that you are deciding what’s entertaining, not a sport? VAR will change nothing. Last nights goal would still have stood as they either wouldn’t go back and review the free kicks itself, or justify giving it because they sensed intent to foul the player. VAR doesn't have to change anything, it just needs to be implemented for the developers to make their money. They are corrupt through choice, and always have been, but it has spiked this season, resulting in a lot of changed opinions in relation to VAR. It will now be introduced to a footballing public with a welcoming sense of hope, rather than suspicion.

I've worked in corporate hospitality, at numerous stadiums, and away fans in corporate areas is extremely common. There is an assumption that people in corporate are respectable people who will behave responsibly. And generally they do. Reminds me of the Chelsea Liverpool CL semi-final. I had the privilege of looking after Omad Djalily for the evening, and he had, amongst his guests, a couple of Liverpool fans. When Liverpool scored their second goal one of them let out a [muted] cry of celebration, and all hell broke loose. The Chelsea fans were apoplectic, it seemed like the entire section wanted to enter this tiny 8 seater box and rip him limb from limb. Security requested that he watch the rest of the game from inside. -
This seems to be the worst year ever for poor refereeing. And with every bad decision, comes the repeated chorus "can't wait for VAR". I wonder if the two are linked.

He was watching Van Dijk, but somehow thought he'd changed into Mane. Then he realised and looked back to find VVD, causing him to fall over. -

Aye. Somebody gets fouled and the ref plays advantage and the team score, he still books the player that committed the foul. -

Bloody love it. Well done folks. -
Wasn't the club practically sold, one time, then Ashley just didn't turn up to sign.
