I thought novemdecillion was some sort of anti-depressant. Well, you learn something new everyday. Should have explained better. I meant as I was reading your post. Give him a life contract and 100 anti-depressants.

I was living and working in North London at the time. Walked into The Priory to humiliation as we were losing 2-1. Shay Given saved a long distance effort and I said "you'll never beat Shay Given from that distance" to which somebody cried "We've already beat him twice" and the whole place laughed at me. Needless to say I had the last laugh.

Aye, would be happy with that. Right now £25 million is a good price. But let's wait until the World Cup. A bad World Cup will not make Fulham or wolves want him less. A good World Cup and who knows who might be interested.

Seem similar calibre to me. If you can get £10-15m for Gayle and Hernandez for free, I reckon Rafa could do good with that cash. £15 mill would be enough for Kenedy's tattoos.

Islam Slimani - Returned to Leicester

I don't see how Mitro could look effective in Rafa's system, he doesn't offer the same mobility. I still have doubts about whether he would score enough goals in the premier tbh, but I could be wrong. Just don't see him doing it the way Rafa sets up. I'd spend 12-15mill on Slimani, and keep Mitrovic as his equal/understudy (dependant on whether he can convince Rafa that he can learn from him). If we sell Mitro we should be looking at a player of similar age, ability and value , but more suited to Rafa's system. In a hazy dreamland scenario that would probably be an ideal outcome, when you woke up what would you do? Are you saying that only in a fantasy of my own imaginations could Rafa have a list of potential targets? Well let's have a look at all three of your propositions: 1. Get Slimani for £12-15m - not going to happen realistically, certainly not £12m, could be closer to £20 probably. If Leicester want him off their wage bill, we'll gt him for £15. 2. Mitrovic isn't going to be his understudy, even Rafa was ok with it, the lad himself won't. Exactly why I didn't say understudy but specified equal/understudy. Let the two of them compete for the position with the awareness of exactly what Rafa expects. 3. Rafa will find someone of similar calibre but younger and at that sort of price range. That's possible, but it's just wishful thinking at this point. I have great faith in Rafa's knowledge of the football world. We might get someboy who isn't as good as either Mitro or Slimani, but is more effective in Rafa's system. The idea that we will be unable to find a similar player for a similar price just defies logic. -
In his current form, I reckon he would have got us an equaliser on Monday. But since if he was here he wouldn't have played for a year, he wouldn't have been in that form, and would have been more likely to remove that little blond lad's head.

Good point. And if I'm correct that VAR is nothing more than an attempt at more advertising space, then sponsors will be paying their players per the number of advert opportunities they create.

Linesman holding up a black stick?

Actually, there is nothing that would be more satisfying than for West Brom to stay up now. Apart from the obvious home defeat we'd have to endure. But nothing would highlight Pardew's (and his supporters') cuntishness more.

but yeah we won't get 10 years of 15 goal seasons out of slimani so might as well not bother Seriously? You're like a child at times. -
It is a crazy stat, but tbf to him, he's had been linking up well and a vital part in a few of the goals we've scored during a run of form. Yeah, I was only half joking. He's been vital to our attacking play. Due mostly to his understanding with Shelvey. We lost that last night.

Genuine question. Did Rafa make any attempt to sign Slimani on a permanent deal in January? -

In reality we have Rafa and his network looking at every conceivable option. If his conclusion is that Slimani is the answer, then so be it. I would still expect him to get the best deal. -

Interesting statistic, we've never won a game in which Gayle has scored this season. His impotence serves the tam well.

I don't give a shit about resale value, I'm only concerned that we get value and £30 mill for a 29 year old who has yet to prove himself in the premiership is not value. Rafa has picked up Dubravka, Lejeune and Merino and I've no reason to doubt he can spot a forward. Ahh ok, so it's nothing to do with the fee, you just don't want Slimani as our main striker next season? Well that makes more sense, and I'm with you, if we can unearth the next Messi from the depths of South America for a couple of million, and he goes on to scoring 40 goals next season, I'm all for it. Have to admit, I'd always "prefer someone better" whenever we get linked with a player, but I'm pretty realistic too. I'd happily take Slimani as our main striker next season if Rafa wants him. I just think there is a strong argument that Leicester have no right to expect their money back on a player that they took gamble with. -

that's slimani who was nearly £30m in two years ago money, he's a £50m equivalent buy now say we're not paying £50m for a striker under any circumstances with ashley that's the issue in a nutshell, if rafa rates him slimani is a no brainer for me How the fuck has 2 seasons on Leicester's bench increased his value by £20mill? -

by your own fucking logic this obviously won't be the case can't understand the mentality and lack of understanding of where we are as a club - ok if we get taken over we might be in a position to splash £40m on a 23/24 year old striker...as it is we have a 23/24 year old striker our manager doesn't want and a 29 year old striker that he might our owner remains mike ashley, if you offered me the chance to swap mitro for slimani tomorrow with rafa as manager i'd take it without batting an eyelid, then when he's 32 years old and presumably no longer able to walk because of how old he is, we can reassess where we are Why wait until then to re-assess when it's quite clear, right now, where we'd be. Up shit creek without a striker and a market that demands more than it does today. i meant as club man, you can't assume that slimani would be shite and not score for 2 years, so assuming he plays 2 years and we get better as a club and so on we would then reassess whether we're able to bring in a top class striker to replace him, or indeed spend the 2 years scouting for one as well i mean in the real world we'd probably look to flog mitro for +£20m, throw in another £20m and hopefully buy a striker who can stick around for 5 years and be mint...do you know any? and mike ashley is still our owner No I don't know any, but then I don't have Rafa's scouting network who I doubt have been doing nothing in the two years since picking out a 27 year old Slimani.
