  1. Momma says life is like a box of chocolates.
  2. Dele Alli ? "Not that type of player." Apparently. Looks one date rape away from beating somebody to death.
  3. Maguire is hardly an ectomorph! He's more of an immovable object than unstoppable force, though.
  4. Tells you all you need to know about English football "managers", that they can't fuking manage footballers.
  5. Has the potential to become a huge, huge fan favourite here like. Just depends if his own personal ability/ambition outgrows the club. It probably will under Ashley, hopefully we’ll be sold and we can grow with him. The lad has character. He'll be here as long as Rafa is imo. If Ashley fucks Rafa off then Lascelles would be totally vindicated in following him imo. As would we all.
  6. I know prices are mental but we will not get £30m for Mitro ffs. Bought him for £13 million and his value has not exactly decreased. I concur, but we will not get £30m for Mitro. There is literally no chance, I'm sorry. Vehemently disagree given that we got £35 million for Carroll before prices even began to get as ridiculous as today. Assuming he does well at the WC his price would increase even more. The only reason we wouldn't be able to get £30m for him under those circumstances would be the incompetence of our club negotiating with other clubs, which to be fair, is very possible. Carroll was scoring goals in the Premier, and at the time looked unplayable. While I understand player values have rocketed since then, I still think Mitro will need to show some form in the Premier to generate interest at that sort of money. Tom Cairney is rated at £20m+ without a single PL appearance. Strikers are usually more expensive, a striker with a decent PL goal ratio is bound to cost more. Anything less than £25m-£30m would be pathetic. He’s still only 23. Slimani was bought for £30m with nothing but a few goals in a piss poor Portuguese league. No one paid the £25m for Cairney did they? I'm not saying we shouldn't slap a £30m price tag on Mitro, just that I can't see anyone paying it at this point. Why wouldn’t they? See Hans’ post above. He’s increased in value as he’s increased in performance/ability. Name me a young international striker in as good form as Mitro that isn’t worth £30m+. You can continue to dislike him but he continues to score goals and perform well both at club and international level. Even a half decent Championship player goes for £15m+ these days. It's got nothing to do with disliking him, I just don't think a club will pay £30m for him because of what he's doing in the championship. Hans doesn't think so either unless I'm reading that wrong. Nobody is saying that is the case, it's just that what he is doing in the championships supports what he has already done at international level and in the prem.
  7. "Not during the match but......had a very strange experience at the station. On the steps down to the platform six guys who had seen my City shirt and were just a foot behind me started singing "We clap with our hands, we clap with our hands.." I thought they must be Newcastle (despite being fairly legible) but ended on "Coventry City, we clap with our hands". I noticed some Police at the bottom of the stairs just as it was intensifying and thought "mmm, Coventry City, if only there was the slightest of things I could nit pick at in that strutting stormtrooper of a well organised football club", resulting in a medley of "We are Premier league....we own our own ground.....we won the league" etc. Got down to the platform and there's a crowd of lads ahead of me, I say to them "Can you believe this, Coventry fans trying to take the piss out of us?". To my surprise they were Geordies but backed me up straight away.."Coventry? Didn't they lose 6-2 to Yeovil on Monday?" I replied loudly, "yeah and then to the local girl guides team on Wednesday" which brought applause and laughter from the platforn, police and all. The Chaventry fans went to their platform shouting something about my hair loss as 6 on 1 had become 6 on 51. Got talking to the Geordies about our clubs, a great bunch. Banter from them, a team that have just beaten us would have been expected, a comment on clappers fair enough, but from random Chaventry fans only here for a connection, when their club is a million miles away from being where we are at, a very strange and lucky for me the other lads were pro Leicester (went on to say how much they respect our achievements) or it could have ended differently! Coventry! Enjoy the clapping with hands at your consolation goals vs Yeovil (and St Agatha's under 14's)!" Canny Reminded me of a time we went to Millwall. On the way there we were whistling the theme to "Some Mothers Do have 'em", and when we got off, we were passing a couple of lads who said "oroit moi saaan". Once outside the station we took a little time to consider where we were going and these two lads got ahead of us. The next 10 mins was like a film. As w walked down the street, people were coming out of shops and pubs and just about everywhere, until these two lads were suddenly about 500. And as we turned into the next street we were confronted by them, chanting "We're Jawdies we're mental, we're orf are facking eads." in loud cockney accents. Cutting a long story short(ish) we got an escort to the ground, and watched as every one of the 500 entered the same end as us. The first half was filled with a silent tension, but nothing happened and we forgot about it in the second half as we went on to win 2-1, Clarkie and Cole I believe. Later on we bumped into the two lads from the station, and it turns out they were Newcastle fans, living in London, who believe we were Millwall ad the Frank Spencer tune was a millwall song.
  8. Okay. £20 million plus a hefty sell on percentage.
  9. Andre Gray signed for Watford @ £20 million as a 25 year old with 10 Premiership goals in 36 games. Why would Mitro be valued less than that? You might point to the fact that nobody else but Fulham came in for him, but he had a reputation which was off-putting to a lot of clubs. He appears to have silenced those criticisms.
  10. This man is absolutely fucking marvellous. Never fails to silence his doubters, by the end of the season. They all return the following season, as if nothing ever went before, of course.
  11. Phoenix Nights? Kenny Senior iirc. I thought it was the 3rd duke of whinbourne, or whatever: "Imagine. Me. In a ladies prison. After lights out."
  12. If Fulham get promoted they will need a premiership striker, surely they would prefer to continue with Mitrovic who has slotted into their team with ease and works well with the way they play, than take a chance on some £20million Slimani type. If Fulham ask how much we want for him then we need to take that into account.
  13. Googled this with quotations to see where it was from and the first link (to a twitter account) is basically the lass you Fast Show, I'm pretty sure.
  14. More comparable to Andre Gray, but not English, and with an international career.
  15. In my defence I only said he's worth that to Fulham. If he has a good world cup he'll go to a better club.

Mitro has 10.
  17. Aye. Us. We're going to be top 4 next season.
  18. He's good like, but I would feel bad for Dummett, he's been superb with Kenedy on our left hand side. I'd not feel bad at all. Sessegnon is the future. Dummett said himself, in a recent interview, that he wants to be pushed.
  19. Keep Mitro and buy Sessegnon.
  20. Diame's turnaround has been praised a lot, but I think Shelvey's has been equally impressive, if not as clearly visible. He seems to have cut out the sulky petulance, without losing an important aspect of his game. That's the kind of thing that international commentators claim is impossible for the likes of Delle Alli.
  21. I think on current form if Fulham want to take him on as a Premiership player, he's currently £30million. If he has a good World Cup they simply can't afford him. Let's not forget they wanted £25million for Tom Cairney, a year ago.
  22. Rafa's got this. 3-0 to us. While not as optimistic on the scoreline as you, i think we indeed might get a win. A fleeting moment of joyous madness at the revelation that their preperation will be interrupted. I still expect us to be beaten, but it is far from a forgone conclusion. Really ? i actually don't. Two losses only since december in the league to Liverpool and Man City, i think we will get something (i'm doing the Newcastle hope about the be dashed thing, aren't i ?) I don't know, I'm in a weird place where my heart tells me we'll lose, but my head is saying "fuck off you nutter, just look at the facts".
  23. It's not just his Hollywood balls, either. Some of his simpler passes were spot on too, and something else I noticed today is his ability to disguise his intentions. I guess that comes from the expectation of a long pass, but it's good that his reputation is beginning to have a positive impact.
