Give Botman a chance to observe the PL at pitch level before throwing him in. Makes sense to me. -

I predicted that team [Pope aside] at the end of last season. -

I don't think Anderson would be that much of a surprise. It's definitely between him, Longstaff, and Willoock, for that 3rd midfield slot. Any of them would be justified. I think that extends to most players. Any surprises would be people missing, like Trips, Targett, Bruno, ASM, Joelinton and Wilson. -
I should have said he did well to get onside, sorry. I meant he did well not to ruin the whole move.
-
Brilliant goal. Winger did so well to stay onside.

This multiball thing benefits the top clubs as well. The faster pace of the game will leave players less time to recover, meaning they will be forced into lowering their quality more often. Top clubs all have 5 players they can introduce that won't impact their overall quality. But the likes of Forest have players worse than Colback to introduce.

Howay Mitro. Show them where ya fatha works.

we're a perfect match for each other, primed to grow together. Everything points to Howe being a huge success and we will inevitably benefit from that. People say that we won't replicate the form of last season, which is fair, but it also suggests he was unlikely to repeat that form if he had signed for any other club. It's fucking Kismet motherfuckers.

What are your minimum expectations for this season? (2022/23)
Happinesstan replied to Rich's topic in Football
It's still too early to make solid predictions TBH, still fun to get involved. Our fist two games should give us a good indication of what we can expect. 6 points would be phenomenal. A complete endorsement of our progress and we could be forgiven for dreaming of CL, with a floor of 8th. 5 points would be a miracle but might give us an indication to how the referees will treat us. 4 points would be great and we couldn't be accused of delusion for looking at the top ten, up to 7th. 3 points would change nothing, really. There is a difference between beating Forest and losing to Brighton, and vice versa, but I'd still be keeping an eye on 12th position. 2 points would be disappointing, and we'd be looking at anything from 17th to tenth. 1point or zero would be a devastating start which would destroy all hope for the season ahead. But we'd probably go on to beat City. -
That was the point of my post. Once upon a time these connections were visible and any corruption would raise an alarm. Now ownership is all smoke and mirrors, but likely still owned by the same small group of people that they always were. Take my 'blankets for the homeless' charity. People might ask questions if I still owned my blanket manufacturing company so I sold it to an investment firm who packaged it into a fund, together with the disposable toothbrush company I sold them. Of course I'm going to invest my windfall in that fund.

A brace. -
It hurt all the more because he was right to do it.

We can fill your hearts with joy. Or, with our wife's blessing, we can burn you down. -
I can understand Keegan not wanting to get involved in an official capacity. He waxed lyrically about us, under Ashley, and got burnt. He's too astute to jump straight into that frying pan, again. The club should celebrate him. He's done his fair share and will always continue to speak positively about the club, you don't have to pay him. Name a stand after him at the very least.

I think we should be targeting 54-55 points. Where that leaves us, positionally, I don't know. -
That is his job after all. Siri could set the playlist up, and do a better job, probably.

Same, but for some reason I think I' be disappointed with eleventh. That's now, of course, if it's a good season then 11th will be fine. I'm not going to feel bad about being disappointed in 11t, mind. It just demonstrates how much the new owners have raised expectations, and that's all part of the experience -

A season without any fear of relegation. And hopefully a positive vibe on here. -
I'm very suspicious of investment funds. Skybet is an example. They were sold, killing the argument that Skynews and skysports had any incentive to influence gambling habits. But it wasn't sold to a new owner, it was sold to an investment firm who wrapped it up in a package and nobody really knows who owns it. If I owned Skysports I'd be heavily invested in a package that included Skybet.

Not true. Journalism as a means to control the narrative has always existed, and always will.

There IS a story there, it's just got fuck all to do with football.

TBF they do dock... shots[??] from forest for no apparent reason. They're 2 under par to our par, when Joelinton comes up against Mckenna. Big Jo wins and both scores go to 1 under par. Or is Mckenna a bogie? EDIT: Oh I think I see it now. -
