Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
Happinesstan replied to joeyt's topic in Football
Maybe something from the Billy Elliot soundtrack could be evolved. -
We struggled for goals last season, certainly. But we were introducing a new forward and developing a tactic for the first time in 2.5 years.
-
Aye. And I for one will be happy to hear nothing until then.

Every single player contributed to the cause, and deserves our thanks.

This is the key. Being able to unlock those teams. Thought we did well in that respect, with the three goals on friday.

No complaints about the quality of his teammates?

He's very much like KK, just lacks the worldwide reputation that Keegan earned as a player. -
I do remember one game where he was definitely taken off to avoid a second yellow. I think we can manage that, especially with 5 subs now.
-
I'm assuming he started in CM yesterday and he didn't really impress me, in the first half. Second half he was pushing into the box more, one occasion getting in Billy's way, and the other getting a goal. But we seemed to be playing with a higher line in the second half, which appears to be the goal, so who knows? The higher line will place Bruno in his most dangerous position on the pitch, likewise Willock. So it could be a goer.

Think there were a few times he was on a booking and came close. Don't think he's the type to do the sending off type of foul, far too canny and doesn't really need to resort to that anyway. Can be cynical and nasty, like yesterday, but never reckless.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)
Happinesstan replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
Meh! I haven't really followed the gossip so I don't know what the fuss is about. Player turned us down to sign for PSG. No shocks here. -
I think he needs a happy experience, on the pitch, and he'll be away*. Hope so. *Not away as in sold.

I thin it's down to many factors but the main one being when you play one of the so-called big clubs. there is no club bigger than your own, in your heart, and these pretenders come and you show them what you think of their big club. Add in the ubiquitous dodgy decision in favour of the "big club" and you're all set for a fiery atmosphere.

Everybody gone silent on this one? Don't think he had the best of games yesterday, but probably our biggest threat in the first half. The fact we didn't produce much at all seems to be consistent in that scenario. Hoping he gets a chance in our best 11 for the next game. Although I'm starting to think I'm not sure he's part of our best XI. Definitely one of our best eleven players, but I still think the evidence points to the fact that we are much more effective, as a unit, without him. First proper game of pre-season though so there is still time to prove his importance. Thinking about it, Howe only has the next game to put out his strongest XI, since I imagine he'll split the quality over the double header.

He's never played for Howe in the PL. -
Some commentators can do it, but some of the more modern ones just try too hard.
-
TV and Film is full of lies, it's all about creating an illusion. Imagine if he said "Well here I am in the Tyne Tees basement recording my commentary for a game that ended 3-0 2 hours ago" wouldn't really be gripping TV.
-
People were complaining about yesterday's commentator researching Krafth's parents. Seems he's not as weird as we thought.
-
I expect him to be better.
