  1. it doesn'#t really make any difference to how much they'll spend in the first year.
  2. I'm not, but I've only seen him 2 or 3 times. Looked like Mitrovic at his most frustrating.

Me too. I think he struggled when we were all struggling, and it took a little longer for him to find himself again, but he was solid at the end of the season. But I do think Pope will give us what we need, in goal, to play how Eddie wants to play.
  4. Nobody was criticising the players. You were defending agents.
  5. Keep inventing arguments that I've never offered all you want mate.

Never won at St. James'. Worrying.

Overpaid. Worrying. Was happy at £10M but we've been fleeced by them. Doesn't look good going forward.

Was like the whirlwind on Rocket League Rumble.
  9. Maybe footballers who deserved their mutli million pound boot deal, because it's a short career, and their image rights, because it's a short career, and their signing on fees, because it's a short career, and a job in the media at the end of their short career, deserve to be have their rape charges viewed differently, because of the money they generate for their victims. Does the victim not have the right to exploit their earning potential if a high profile star assaults them? I know I'm getting ridiculous you don't have to tell me.
  10. @ManDoon& @HTT II to a lesser degree. You're arguing something I have never disagreed with. I believe players should get paid their worth. I just think they are overvalued due to the obscene amounts of money the game fleeces from the average supporter. And unless you have any other justification for their value beyond, "the money has to go somewhere" I think we should stop the discussion.

The delay is due to an accounting error. They need to calculate the VAT again.
  12. Who doesn't. Truth is we had that advice but we knew better.
  13. How much are we talking about him being fleeced by @ManDoon? £10k per week? Leaving him on the pittance of 30. Or are we saying he might be fleeced by as much as 30K, which kind of makes the 40k look laughable.
  14. Well, my apologies but we were talking about A 20 year old negotiating a possible £30-40k per week contract. I can certainly come onside with your argument. But the PFA should be taking care of that.
  15. Bit patronising. Like I said earlier, the argument that their careers are short has existed since it was actually a valid argument, but there have been annual improvements based upon this argument ever since and it's just parody now. How much are we talking about the players getting fleeced without agents? Surely all that matters is that the player is happy with his wage.
  16. I'd like that money to stay in the pockets of the [regularly, not just subject to the risk, fleeced] fans. In the from of reduced ticket pricing, reduce replicas strips. Etc.
  17. I'm sure they would. I think where we differ is on how much. I mean would it be unacceptable to expect them to work two years to earn every penny they'll ever need.
  18. The bartender reference was tongue in cheek. The point is everybody is at risk of failure, and everybody sacrifices whatever else they could be doing otherwise. saying we need agents to protect people from being fleeced, when they're earning every penny they'll ever need, in a year, is just dumb. It's not like I'm saying they shouldn't be paid at all.
  19. You think the bloke down the road working 60 hours a week is sacrificng fuck all?
  20. I'm arguing for a realistic compassion. Saying they'd be fleeced is just hyperbole.
  21. If you;re in an academy your career isn't over. there are other things you can do. Should we pay bartenders a lifetime salary in case they fail their degree.
