I think i's pretty clear if you read the conversation. -

I've no doubt, but that's not particularly pertinent to my point. -

Is that because there aren't actually that many whose careers are ended overnight? -

They've used that to justify their demands since the 80s. I had sympathy then. PFA was set up to deal with such issues. -

Negotiating an annual salary and negotiating a lifetimes earnings in a year, is apples to oranges. -

Maybe we should set up a players union. -

I didn't say it was. I'm just saying that getting half the annual salary each week isn't being fleeced. -

Aye, and the only poor cunts getting fleeced are the fans. -

Where does the money come from is my major concern. -

Fleeced? They're getting an annual salary every week. A lifetimes earnings in a year. And you're worried about the poor wee lambs getting fleeced. -

So we might be briefing the press that unless the agent gets his thumb out of his arse, it's off. But if he gets on the phone in the next 24 hours, he can rescue his attractive payday. -
I recommend trying to swallow them first.

The thing that excites me about this signing, I was on the fence previously, is that stat relating to actually sweeping. Looks like a huge improvement on Dubs, in that respect, which will help the defence play higher up.

But nobody knows anything? Aye right.

We don't need him yet though. If anything this decision will speed things up. It's either already over, or the player will do what is necessary. -
It's the end of times. Edit: It seems we got through it unscathed. Close call.
-
TBF he has said he wants to win the Ballon D'or, so he is placing himself in that bracket.
-
With the caveat that I haven't seen him in a quality team. If you've got 10 world class players in the team, the difference between Murphy and ASM, based on what I've seen, would be minimal. That said, I trust Maxi to be better with quality around him. He said it so it must be true. He's got until January to prove it. The most likely scenario I envisage is that he struggles in the first games and goes in a huff with himself and the entire world. But I do hope this is not the case.

I see what you're saying but we don't have the financial freedom that City had. We're much more like Utd in the 80s in that respect.
-
Takeaway is that they don't want to sell. He's probably worth that much to Southampton. It's just whether anybody else is dumb enough to think he's worth paying that.
-
Have you seen Bill Burr's "no reason" bit?
-
Of course he can, and I'm sure he will. Not the point I'm arguing.
-
I've no doubt he'll have offers to consider, just saying it's naive to suggest he has no reason to stay at Brentford.
-
Been at Brentford as long as Bruno has been here. There's every chance he's made a similar connection.
-
We were a counter attacking team, still. If we want to reach 6-8 we need to dominate the games that we can. Actually, before Wilson returned, we lost the games we dominated most. Chelsea and Everton.
