I think that one might be "the Beautiful game". found this on Greens website: The Beautiful Game (17 July-3 August, 1996)- The idea for Beautiful Game came about in the Baltic, a pub on the banks of the river Tyne in Newcastle upon Tyne, between Robson and Max Roberts. As Robson explains- "Max and I sat and talked about our mutual love of football and we reached the same conclusion: it would make a great play. At that time Newcastle were winning the Premier League, with Kevin Keegan at the helm, and a family based drama about the club's history seemed timely. Within an hour we had the outline and rang Michael Chaplin the same night to see if he'd write it. The idea was simply to celebrate football, in particular the relationship between fans and the club. It was also an attempt to explain to non-fans what the game means, why it inspires such loyalty and devotion." The play opened on 17 July 1996. The first night was a sell-out and even the whole Newcastle United team attended.

They did a few shows in that time, and it's hard to separate them. I think they might have done one specifically about NUFC as well, but not certain.

Gassa. Loved the Waddler and Pedro in my early seasons but watching Gassa grow up was different.
-
It was Robson Green, Tim Healy and Denise Welsh's lot that produced it.

Might have asked this before but did you ever see the play about his life that was on at the Theatre Royal, in about 97. I think it was called 'Shooting the Legend' but it doesn't make much sense and I can't find any reference to it online.

Didn't do it against Brazil or France.

What if he built a wall with the £30mill and ran through that? Would be a bit KLF.

It coulfd just be him saying he makes mistakes like any other player. Not sure if it's a direct response to a question about his ability in the slide tackle. Fans love it, the pundits love it, but a pro defender will be disappointed in themselves if it leads to that.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Obviously. I'm not saying they need to consider it over breakfast. -
Yes, but the premise of my argument is if he does.
-
I heard he had stated unequivocally that he was leaving.

He might just be a narcissist who enjoys being courted. All the posts raised his profile, why wouldn't he like them?

If Milan don't make an offer then it's not really a choice.

It's the risk of that mismanagement leading to long term damage. Not guaranteed of course but something for the medical experts to take into account. -
People said that, 3 weeks ago, about Targett.

Aye we just won our championship. 90 years ago.

I know. But that was because we were drawn out of the low block. I know Howe probably doesn't want to play the low block but if we're this determined to sign him then he must see him as an improvement on Burn. If he's the calm, intelligent type of defender then he might be just what we need. We've only been hammered by 3 of the top 4 teams. So it's not an ongoing problem. A minor improvement in parts might be all the machine needs to function properly

It was rumoured that we learned of Bruno after enquiring about Cannibaga.

I think you can compensate for a lack of pace to a degree, we did it quite effectively for most of the past 6 months. It just takes intelligent defenders, if he's up there with Trippier, Schar and Targett, then the overall lack of pace shouldn't be a problem. BDB is a big geordie nugget, of course. Love him.

I guess if he had "absolutely no interest" then any talks would be positive. -
All I can say to that is, I hope you're not serious.

If we're going with the Oasis tune then there's no need to think of a last line. "And he needs more time" seems to do the job.

I was thinking Andy Thomas. Sure he played no.7

@LFEEAye, but losing him would weaken us from last season, not a good first step in the right direction. Edit: Was actually responding to the post you were responding to.
