I think we'd need another, on top of Ekitike, for that to occur. Which might happen of course, but if it were me I'd be happy [not ecstatic] going into the season with those three. With greater investment in other areas.

If he's signed before pre-season starts then he'll have a good chance of challenging Wood, it all depends how he settles. Would like to avoid throwing him to the wolves, but at the same time I want him to get as much playing time as possible. I'm optimistic that Wilson's overall fitness will improve, and Howe will manage it better than Bruce. Hopefully these two factors can combine to get a full season out of him.

I don't believe there is any rush to sell him, but if an offer were made then I think we'd consider it. But I like to think we'd allow him to make the choice.

If a company is so desperate to sponsor us that they are prepared to pay the cancellation fee, then it won't cost us a penny.

Wilson is a proven CF. He's struggled with injuries under Bruce but I expect he'll be much more reliable next season.

I don't have too many concerns about his quality [although I haven't really seen enouh to judge] but we're specifically looking for a forward who can step in should Wilson get injured. His absence this season is a concern for that very reason. Spending £40 million on a solution you better hope it is the solution. Unless we're looking at him being first choice, which is where I can't compare. I've seen Wilson in full action, everything he does, but I've really only seen DCLs goals/assists. As such Wilson appears to be better of the two.

If you're buying one transformative signing each year then the need for them to succeed increases. I imagine if you look at how many of Liverpool's transformative signings have flopped you'll get an idea of how effective their recruitment system is.
